hi, I'm dropping my mk2 bready this week :-D its going 60mm front and 40mm rear, I've got some 14" 6j teardrop alloys I've been repainting etc and already have 4 tyres from the wheels I'm running atm, these tyres are 185/55, what do u reckon or should i go 4 165/60 and stretch a lil bit, not scared of a bit of flaring etc on the arches. would go 4 the 165/60 but as we all no its nearly christmas and iv got no cash and so far no prezzies for anyone , lol,

yo dude, you wont need to flare arches with teardrops, not wide enough and the offset is spot on. 175/50s would be perfect, and remember to go for a good make

185/55 R14 are the ideal size for a Mk2. Why go for narrower tyres with less grip just for the sake of a bit of stretch?

If you really want stretched tyres (personally I think they're pointless but thats only my opinion), you should get some wheels wider than 6j.

not really looking for the stretch look as i want as much rubber on the ground as poss really for the grip, just hoping i dnt get to much rub, the wheels i have atm rub on inside but they have 45 offset, teardrops are 38 so hopefully that will be enuf to miss the inside. will just hope the outsides will miss, lol
