Bailey's 5-door White 6n!

Featured Replies

Here is my progress thread! I have a dream of dropping her, and putting on some nice deep dish wheels. But being a student have very little money and time to do these projects as of yet! But give it time!

So I got her from my sister (who is going travelling), who got it off my nan! I am paying my sister £1500 for her, which i think is a fair price.

She is the 1997 P Reg, 1.4 8v SE 6n edition. She had done just over 19500 miles, and this is not a mistake (my nan didn't drive it!) - good news for me.

So here are a few pics of her when I first took her over!

About two weeks after I passed my test I decided to take the badges off the boot! Here is a single pic of the result on that; (I am happy with it)

Since these photo's were taken I have put in new Xenon bulbs (headlights+sidelights) and I am really happy with them for the price they were! - here is some pics.

I also bought some new festoon bulbs for the interior light, in green as well as some LED strips from Hong Kong to go underneath the footwells, and I am very happy with them, installed them early today. Here are some pics, but they don't do them justice at all!

Got some Vibe 6x9's and some 6x9 boxes ready to go in the boot, as I don't like having only front components.

Looking for a debadged grill at some point, bit by bit aye!

All comments welcome,

Thanks

get it on its arse mate

I would be doing exactly that IF i had the funds. ;)

Get those green lights out :( I think it's tacky especially on a white beaut this is exactly like my 6n when i first got it.

Get the side strips off mate ;)

Good progress buddy. I see you`ve got the same wheel problem I have, Sport Raders! Its your car but I wonder how much the xenons and interior lights cost? maybe you`d have done better putting the money towards shocks. That said, its tidy car and I hope it does you well.

Firstly thanks for all the comments,

Cheers Andy, I have spent about £15 on the lighting altogether. Literally my budget is tight! haha.

I have looked at the side strips, but wont they have holes underneath? Not entirely sure what to do yet...

As for the strips they are staying man, I'm really happy with them, as I said the pics are terrible, and definitely do not do them justice.

Well it's been a couple of months since I updated so here we go. Not much has happened though, Christmas is too expensive!! :x

Anyway, here are a few pics of what I have done (and some snow pics!). Still not dropped and the rims are standard. That will change in the summer hopefully.

- Debadged Grille

- Seat Covers

- Steering Wheel Cover

- Good tCut on some bits of paint.

- A good polish!

hey pal, your just like me, on a tight budget an all.

i see your swaying to the halfords way of modding, most of the things from them are cheap and look about as good a bird poo on your bonnet.

I understand its your car and your taste, but you will find you spend so much on tacky crap... the money you spent could have got wheels or lowerage.

Best cheap mods that i can recommend :

- cheap wheels ( shopping around is you best bet here, 16v alloys are cheap for there looks. i got a mint set with great tires on here for £50)

- 6N2 rears (transfroms the look of the rear of the polo, well worth investing in them)

- clear indicators (makes the car cleaner looking)

- bumpstrips and badges off ( free! /relocating "POLO" badge to front grill is a tryed and tested mod that look good)

- removing Rear wiper ( about 8p for a gromet to fill the hole)

- budget shocks and springs.

probably lots more but i cba.

Don't go overboard on it as it's a stunning looking car already.

What I'd do would be a nice drop, some decent 14" or 15" wheels, HID headlight conversion, de-wiper and buy the proper smoothed blanking plate, fit a remote central locking kit and grab yourself some new headlights.

Oh, and buy some 16v seats.

Job done.

Car got written off about a week ago.

Left my car at home while I went off to uni, and decided I'd let my sister borrow it. She parked it on the road outside my house.

6:20am I get a phone call, some guy who couldnt speak a word of english had smashed into the back of my car in his mercedez transit van.

complete write off, his van wouldnt start either.

good news is, managed to get a decent payout from the insurance, so will be back in business around christmas!!

It'll T-cut out.

On a serious note, that's messed up, how fast was the guy going?!
