VW Polo GTi with a 1.8 20v Turbo conversion

78k - 15k since conversion, just had a service.

Tax until Jan 2010

only £189 a year as its a 2001 car

Mot until Feb 2010

Here is my Polo 6n2 GTI, which is running a 1.8 20VT, which is producing around 280bhp.

Since owning this I have replaced the Gearbox Mount and the Rear Engine Stabiliser Mount (which has been reinforced) so these should never give you an issue. It has had a full service and check and is mechanically perfect.

The car is running the 5 speed Cupra gearbox which makes mounting the engine a lot easier and positioned better so the drive shafts aren't put under immense stress... Thus not having to replace them all the time!

The cars performance is utterly savage and will put to shame any new hot hatch that is on the market at present. And more than that it will match the performance of very expensive performance cars. It's a lot of fun!

G60 / Ibiza Cupra brakes with custom discs and race pads.

G60 Steels

Interior

Half leather/suede bucket seats and stripped out rear with the battery in the boot

Momo 280mm team steering wheel.

Exterior

All bumpers and doors smoothed of rubstrips

Custom vent in bonnet to help the release of hot air

Xenon's with 6000k HID's

This car was cat D fully repaired before I bought it and obviously has since then had the engine conversion too.

If you have read my essay in my thread you will know I may be looking for some sort of TDI or something just more sensible. I'm happy to look at Swaps / PX's etc.

Now I'd personally like around £6000 for it which I think is a bargain... GTI's are selling for around £4000 and this IMO is in a different league... if people feel it's priced wrongly feel free to offer me less and I'll see what I think.

Erm once rolling it eats scooby's... It's quicker than my mates evo from 40mph - 120mph.

It is a 20VT on the log book.

And yes... it just needs a few bits under the bonnet, a set of wheels and a nice interior and it'll be a killer show car... but that wasn't why I wanted it... this is at it's best when it's embarrassing other cars... hence why it's not silly low and hence why I love the G60 steels!

Although I love your Polo Neil but I may as well just put a nice interior in mine and get the map toned down a bit... I'm looking for something a bit bigger and better on motorways etc... so Golf Anni TDI / 20VT, e46 330ci, S3, TT (lol), you know... something along those lines.

But all this depends on my decision on company car etc...

If I get a company car and i just want to sell the polo I'd be interested in any p/x if it's something which will be easy to sell on.

I only really want the Anniversary tbh... you get a nicer interior, better dials etc etc... All I'd want to do is lower it on some DZ Exclusiv's.

That is an option and to be honest I can afford to do that... but it's whether it would actually be worth it. Can I justify the cost of keeping it just to use it on the odd weekend???

Tom i know what you're saying and i've said this on ed38... Me and my gf are saving for a deposit, so having a weekend toy would be pretty unjustifiable at the moment.

But in the same sense I would still like a nice car and if Mike (on ed38) is serious then that could be an option as I could use that daily (sitting in trafic) plus it's silver (which I prefer) and all it needs is an engine... So I could have it as my only car then get a company car in 2011 and then do an engine conversion on Mike's.
