Hi all,

Does anyone know how to adjust the handbrake on a mk4 polo 6n? as mine is a bit high and i wanted to tighten it...

Is there some sort of guide that i could use....

you could just tighten the cables up, but you should proberly check the brakes etc

but to adjust cable pop the surorund off at bottom of handbrake and tighten cables, its self explanitory when you see it

stick car in reverse, reverse at speed then jam brakes on :) lol

a high handbrake could be worn brakes at the back. Check them out. if there ok.

theres a nut under the handbrake iirc. Tighten it and this will tighten the cable

more likely to be the auto-adjusters in the rear drums not working quite properly as they regularly do. You can adjust them by poking a pointy screwdriver through a bolt hole and moving the adjuster wedge down slightly. The adjuster wedge is the bit to the left of this picture with a spring in the bottom of it:

It'll be towards the front of the car.
