yep. Anything that is classed as service items or used for service. So all tools, toolboxes, oils, engine fluids, bulbs, wipers, batteries, brakes discs etc

Only things seen as unessential, i.e a set of new mats or something, arent under trade.

Halfords trade is actually quite a substantial discount on tools too!

20% on tools unless on offer

I need a trade card :(

its actually more than 20% on tools. Batteries are good, go from 100 quid to 45 on trade!

and headlights, 9.50 to 1.70 on trade

Good shiz lol

just shows how much they are ripping off the general public if they can still turn a worthwhile profit selling stuff at such insane discounts.

Pretty sure it is 20%

They are expensive to the public but I expect they sell trade discounted products at just above cost

@Effel,

To get a trade card you've got to take a form of photographic identification and a payslip from your place of work to prove that you work in engineering.

well I'm training as a mechanic at college atm, you reckon theres anyway of wangling it?

Your actually meant to prove you work in the car trade, but the spakkas at the desk at the time didnt realise that my qualifications in mechanical engineering had nothing to do with it lol.

Lol, managed to wang one myself. I'm a stock controller for a bus company, although my payslip says i'm under engineering section. The Halfords guys ummed n arr'd for a bit before just asking "Do you get your hands dirty?" Told them I did, which I do lol and they sorted me out :D

Great for the BMW as it's a 6liter Sump so every now and again I have to buy two 5 liter bottles of fully synth lol! Not cheap at full whack!

a 6 litre sump!!! hahaha, bet your glad you have your card ey :)

does anyone go to oscotts?

na its all bollocks with the wage slips and crap, i work there and just give them out without doing anything! the cards work immediatley, and you can be given them on managers discretion too. i give out for fuckall all the time mostly because its all pointless inputting you info like name, adress, number, were u work, what proof says u work ther. the silly thing is that the stores get credit every time u buy summit on trade!

the discount varies upon items like halfords stuff i.e the halfords oil wich is made by comma by the way u will get more discount than would if its castrol. the discount varies all the time. they make fuckups at headoffice too like the other day a m8 wanted some gun gum on the shelf its £5.99 on trade its 26p lol

i has one...but baught all tool i need now..just use it on paint and things...gets abit offf.

Thats what I've always used in the BM and i'll use Halfords own in the Polo when I do an oil change on it. Didn't realise it was Comma, alot of people slate it purely for the fact it's Halfords own, probably not realising it's exactly the same stuff as they pay an extra £10 or so for being in a Comma bottle lol

Yer Harris, the Halfords cars a lifesaver when it comes to oil changes on the BM! saves me a good £10 a time at least!

so anyone can get these cards? or do you actually need proof your in engineering? cos I'm not :( lol

Halfords haha,I'm certain the tool discount is 20% then all other equipment varies.Halfords were good to me when i left they carried on paying me for two months even though i had been working for a new company for two months.I didn't mind at all,i kept it until the financial year was up then it paid for me to fly to Vancouver that summer :D

I work in Aerospace/Motorsport Engineering, does this apply to me, or do I have to be a proper mechanic? The amount I spend in Halfrauds sometimes I wish I had a discount!
