dude, been there done that, you need like two pairs of trousers, two t shirts, two hoodies, a jacket and a beanie.

glad the alternators not too bad a job but get some two bits of cardboard with a spare duvet or cloth in between as access in a mk2 is a little limited.

Many layers of clothes were worn and I went hard core with a pathetic tarpaulin on the frozen ground. Wasn't to bad actually having had to retrieve the alternator from a scrappy doing a bit of ice climbing this was actually trouble free.

What I loved was the fact that the car started first time and idled effortlessly. It's been below -10 up here.

Going down the avenue was a bit worrying like some sort of submarine disaster movie pure belly scraping the undersealed body down the icy snow.

Sorry couldn't take those wheels :( had to opt for some cheap tarantulas with good rubber.
