Set a time,plan, proper meeting points and organise that with the landowners, maybe meal or something after?

If its a long run then where will stay overnight, run plates etc..

at the mo it looks like its guna be a 2 stage run from birmingham to london , london to brighton , with a camp out or hotel in brighton , we will be travling along A roads with a checkpoint midway to stop for food , fuel etc , can organise goody bags stickers for the cars etc at a cost

Depending on when this is I'd be up for it :). I do think their should be prizes etc though as the fuel cost isn't going to be pennies. You could maybe do a show and shine at the start or finish as well.

Another idea is that we all go into the middle of London or something, the idea of 200+ Polo in convoy round the capital amuses me :).

If it was coming past my way i'd hook up until John'O'Groats...

I attempted to do the Crumball Rally a couple of years ago.

Made it as far as Kent when the auto gearbox on our 2.9 Ford Granada let go.

But anyway, it's an interesting idea but I wouldn't underestimate the amount of organisation needed for something like this.

The mini lot do the 'Rivera run'

Basically, you end up in Cornwall.

The only problem is, sorting the campsites out. Due to the age of a lot of people who would want to do this most of us would end up in the crappy campsites for under 21's.

But most of the sites down there will give you a plot for the group with enough room for a small show.

As you can imagine, the mini and aircooled VW ones are massive and they can cater for that.

Id be up for something going one way or the other (down south or up north) But trying to get both into one run is just too much.

I don't mind helping out with organising either, good practise and I'll learn a lot I reckon for what I have planned for 2011 *cough* the ring *cough* lol

I vote ending up in cornwall anyway as its such a cool place.

i think snakes pass would be a good one lol just to see how many people make it through in one peice now that would be more fun at this time of year as motor way drivin is borin

Doing it all on B roads will be extremely tricky. The amount of us that will simply just get lost.

Most will have to be motorway. But I reckon if we did a slightly long winded route and headed to the coast sooner than cornwall then drive along all the coastal roads.... That would be fun, for the views more than anything.

Then whilst there we could do a short trip to lands end.

Could do it as a long weekend, Friday to Sunday easily.

I had an idea for doing this.

But when you get to lands end, you intentionally break your car/engine and call the RAC and get them to tow you to Jon o groats.

Obliviously there'd be at least two others doing this. One using the AA and the other Green Flag.

It would be a race with a large wager involed.

Don't they have a milage limit after which you have to pay £2ish a mile?

Ok, so we could come off the M5 onto the A361 Follow that down to Barnstaple Then onto the A39 wich is pretty much coastal all the way into cornwall.

Maybe come off the A39 a few times to get closer to the coast.

I think it could be a pretty cool drive. Its better than motorway, Not half as long as the 1st idea (end to end) and the chance to get some epic photos along the way.

Id only come if there was a small charge to cover your own fees, camp site ect.

I would only do;

England ----> nurburg (14 minutes of fun in a 1litre i recon! )

Cat and fiddle ----> Snakes pass.

Say £20 entry fee, x100 dubbers = £2000, any campsite is gunna accept that, just dump us in a field

When driven hard these roads are more demanding, but are lethal.

And overall i just love a nice crusie on these roads.

what about may? just trying to push it a little more in to the 'warmer' stage, plus i'm hoping to have the scirocco on the road by mid April so i would have a choice of what to take

what would be the plan, set off (from where) on Friday, camp (where ish?) then carry (to where?) then camp there on the Saturday and then just drive back the direct route rather than the scenic route on the Sunday?

i'd love to do something in Europe! Weekend road trip would be sick
