Not a clue tbh. I was just thinking, drive to cornwall, camp there for 2 nights. The full day we have there we could carry on to lands end (bout 80 miles round trip) and visit a few cool places on that day

As long as theres time to go to the cider farm and go clothes shopping id be happy lol.

More of a clubpolo holiday looking at it that way. but still, I think its a good idea

The way me and a load of mates did it last time was just to book in 2's (as the place didnt like groups, although they where fine with us when they realised we where together lol)

But as you can imagine, that could be a bit of a pain. Especially if a lot of people want come.

Only other choice is to go on a really crappy site.

Id rather do the couples thing just for the decent showers tbh haha!

I would do somthing similar, but there is no way you would get me to pay. I have payed my road tax, so unless you have some private roads you will be going on, i will just follow on behind thanks.

A39? It's disgustingly shit in places - dangerous (mate of mine died on it), bad corners, bad surface, full of police and people who cant drive.

There's better in Cornwall, though there's also better out of Cornwall.... Mostly lanes down here with sods law dictating that a tractor WILL come the other way

The route I was looking at was spending most of the time off the A39 and just going on it a couple of times to link to roads that are more coastal.

I've no intention of racing around, specially not with a boot full of camping stuff lol.

More of a slow cruise once we are off the motorway/dual carriage ways

Had a closer look at the route i think we should take.

Meet at a services near Birmingham (as its central) somewhere on the M5.

Would need to know whos coming from where to sort the best meeting point though ideally.

We then carry on along the M5 all the way to Junction 27, where we come off and go onto the A361

Then stay on the A361 until it comes to a end and merges with the A39 (Newport) Instead of going the direct route now we stay left instead of going towards conrwall on the A39

Keep lift and head for the B3233 (wich is a bridge over the river something )

Then we would stay on this road all the way till it merges with the A39

At the junction for the A3073 we then come off the A39 and go through a small town called Bude

Leave the A3073 When we see a road called Bencoolen rd. that then crosses another river. Now it sytartes to get confusing as there are no rad numbers, just lots of names.

But, from what google maps looks like, you would just keep going on this road and its pretty much all coastal. It goes closer than any other road does to the coast.

At a guess they are all country lanes as there no names or numbers anymore

Next junction is a crossroads before a village called Middle Crackington (junction has coxford meadow marked right next to it)

By now most of us are probably all lost which makes it even more fun haha!

We would then go left and that takes us back to the A39 (as we are all bored of getting lost and seeing the sea)

Then leave the A39, never to join back up with it at a pretty little village, Padstow. This is the A389. Stop of at padstow for a well deserved icecream and brake (even a padle if your daring ). We are now nearly in Newquay.

From padstow we are on the B3276.

When that comes to an end we simply just go to the campsite. Crack open the beers and get the BBQ on the go.

Shearing storys of how lost we all got and trying to get in touchn with people that still haven't made it to the campsite haha!

I would advice CB radios or walkietalkies for this kind of trip though.

1: they are so much fun

2: you dont get lost as much

3: They come in handy for warning people of savage potholes and the like.

It sounds like a lot, but I reckon its not so bad?

I would print some Google map's diagrams out and write some directions etc.

But we all no, getting lost is part of the fun haha!

Let me know what you think, You should be able to follow the route yourself on Google maps. Its pretty simple, just look for the roads close to the coast and keep an eye on the A39

I don't see why the john o groats to lands end idea got so much bad feedback tbh, it's something I plan to do next summer with a few mates, should be a good laugh. Avoiding motorways wherever possible too ofcourse. But then I guess it depends what you're after.

Hopefully going to do a tour of Europe this Easter too, going straight across as far as the Germany/Poland border then coming back in a loop via the ring, then onto Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Southern France. Can't wait!

On a more serious note, I'm definatly up for this, how will we go about the camp site? will it be arranged by you guys and we pay-pal? you money? or do we sortt hat bit out our self?

Camping will be arranged at a later date, don't worry about that bit just yet lol.

let's try and camp next to the sea, would be nice to go down the beach for a drink on the evening, maybe even a little BBQ if the weather is nice...
