needs abit of love though but soon be on the road..has a fuel leak from under the tank so its a non runner...

wen and baught some parts earlier...oil,oil filter,plugs,leads and off to get a full head gasket set,dizzy,rotor arm and few other bits tomorrow to make her fruity..

has some nice chrome trims e.c.t on and bumper washer jets..:)...has full brown interior with door cars and seats I've never seen before...

Seriously cool retro colour, I'm jealous. Always good with a tail gate like that without the plastic spoiler thing.

That interior will clean up I'm sure, do it justice or the Scottish squareback police will track you down lol. With the scrappage scheme were going to get to a point where these (in any colour) will be rare.

I'm supposed to be out for a family dinner....but no my little polo took priorities........dub love for you...

well ..

basically i got the car as a non runner and leaking fuel.......

first i repaired the split pipe under the car where most of the fuel was leaking from....thaught wheeeey its not the tank...put a few quids worth of fuel in and seemed ok...

next i went tried to get it running....poored abit of fuel in the top of the carb and brummmmmmmm.....

she was gna live...:)

off to halfords and motor factors i go...

100plus quid later i ahve some bits to make it fruity...

5lt 10w40 oil

then took the fuel pump of my mk1 jetta engine which i done a head rebuild on to find the rings had gone...so stripped it of its parts

nice clean and painted inlet manifold with fully rebuilt painted and cleaned carb...and a nice little k + n filter i had laying about...

fitted most of them parts and it ran sweet...still a little adjustment to make on the mixture of the carb and idle speed but other than that shes good to go...

off to get a cambelt tomorrow as they didnt have one in stock and proberly another fuel filter for piece of mind and a coil for good measure..

changed a few bulbs and a washer jet pipe and was mostly done...i expected it to fail its mot so didnt bother changing things i knew it would fail on as i didnt want to be rushing about..

then to the mot station...

all started well apart from the wipers barely doing a thing..hah

but in the end it was all good.

failed on

leaking fuel tank....i found this out after i put another 10 quids worth of fuel in it for most of it to leak out...ans had to put another 10quids worth in to make sure i got home.....not bad....22 quids worth of fuel for 12 miles...lmao

both front seat belts not returning..(just need some use and abit of spray)

other thank that....fine...hah...emissions were ok and brakes were stupidly good considering the discs are like completely rust..haha

did get a advisory for a cv boot and front brake pipes though....but as for plans they were getting changed anyways..

so now I'm on the hunt for a new tank and a brake pipe.....

more updates tomorrow after a good sesh on it...

ohhh and 80mm kit should be in the post...and think i might have a wheel trial fitting session tomorrow and find tou what spacers i will be needing to stance the mo fo....

think camber shims may have to be ordered aswell...and i may even clean it..
