go through your dad?

If you have any NCB you're better off making your own policy, try Bell, Admiral, Quinn.

I got quoted £2000 for a 16v 1.4

that was only 3rd party fire and theft though

the cheapest insurers for me were Quinn direct

is it possible for my mum to be main driver and I be named driver

thats what I pay at 20, gotta be done though. shit postcode and being male ftl

I get quotes on a 16v at 17 for £1300, however, my 1.4 8v is currently costing £2000. Thats off gocompare.

i paid £950 for my valver when i had it at 19 2 yrs ncb :) £1400 18 1 yr ncb

oh and named driver on you mums is shite u can get dun for it i think

how did you manage that mate? Was it your own policy? I can't get anything under £3500 third party.

Oh a tip for other young drivers NEVER go to aviva for a quote.

Yeah thats my own policy, don't see the point going on parents as you don't usually earn no claims. A quote with my current insurers for my current car now is £700 cheaper than it was when i took out the insurance, its a piss take.

they are piss takes lol

one day it can be say 1800 next day 3k next day a grand f'ing daft if u ask me

I'm paying a shade over £800 for my insurance, I think the insurance its self is £740 TPFT, but then I have legal assitance, breakdown and windscreen cover. Thats at 21, 0NCB, Just passed test on a 1.6 8V. A 1.4 16v Was £1300 for me to insure on my own policy, 1.4 8V was £10 cheaper than a 1.6 8V to insure, thats with Quinn Direct.

i am 17 and my insurance is £950 for a 1.4 16v polo. however my mum is the main driver and i am the named driver

Therefore you are breaking the law, if your driving it all the time...

My CIVIC EP1 is group err... 4 and i payed £970 tpft named 1st year, then £1275 tpft 2nd year, and now i'm still being quoted £1000 same same, and the polo is £1150 with Quinn, i just used confused every time!

What a sod! i'm 19 now, no ncb, but no claims made... Oh well! :-)

try adrian flux. as I've a 1.4 polo 6n and I'm 17 and i pay 1600. so with you are parent u should be cheaper.

Yours is only an 8v though.....

suppose like.

Am not long turned 17 and I pay £790ish with mods declared, coilovers, stainless system etc etc. And that's fully comp. :) don't ask me how as my dad deals with it, I just pay it lol

Kuszpit :)

I'm 22, 3years NCB, 4 points, heap of accidents to declare mostly none fault, fully comp...£298.

Sometimes it does pay to be slightly older haha.

heya! i'm 19, and yes insurance is a pain!! and expensive!

but the way that i got decent insurance all round is: put you as the Main driver, someone 'less of a risk' i.e. parent as the named driver, that way you can drive the vehicle 24/7, you get some discount cus of the named driver and its YOU who get to build up the no claims bonus!!! so cheaper next year! :-D oh and always check price difference between 3rd party f/f and fully comp, cus this year fully comp was £22 more! than 3rd party....???!!! so worth the extra pennies!

Hope this helps! :-)

I'm 20, 6 points = £1200 valver insurance

Depending on the insurance company the alloys alone could make a huge difference.

When I was 18 I wanted to put alloys worth £200 onto my Fiat Bravo at the time, My insurance wanted £500 extra for this...and it was a third party only policy!

That was a few years ago too so things could be worse now.

What company are you with mate?is that on a 16v?. I'm 24 with 1 years NCB, no points, one accident hence the one years NCB, and I'm paying £670 third party with all mods declared (alloys, coilovers, leather seats etc..) and its a 1.4 8v!!, I'm with Adrian Flux. Seems a bit steep??
