hey all, i've been on here a while now but i only passed my test at the start of the month so i've been on the hunt for a car. went to have a look at a few 1 litre and 1.4 6ns and 6n2s with no joy. until a mate of mine text me about a TDI 6n2 on gumtree for £1600. it looked good on the ad so I had to have a look at it. called the guy up, left a deposit and got it home on tuesday night.

Model: 6n2 SE 3dr
Engine: 1.4 6v TDI
Miles: 140k (all motorway apparently)
Colour: Flash Red
Specs: electric windows, electric mirrors, electric sunroof, front fogs, central locking.

the car had a few problems with the drivers door. the wiring for the windows had shorted out. this, we think, has something to do with why any of the electrics aren't working from the drivers side. along with this, the central locking only worked from the passenger side (opened all doors). but when opening from the drivers side, only the drivers door opens. strange, i know.

anyways, panda and myself took the door card off this afternoon and sourced a full new drivers door loom from a guy near us who is breaking a 6n2.




plans for this include severe slammage, decent interior and these puppies...

I like the fact you've had yours a under a week and already getting the problems fixed, I've had mine 5 months and still aint been arsed to fix the windows

door has been stripped and loom removed.

Just waiting on hearing back from my mate as to when we can go get the new loom :)

yeah it pulls well :) haven't really had the chance to drive it properly as its got no tax and when i drove it home my dad was in the car.

Avoid the tuning boxes like the plague, all they do is up the fueling and nothing else, get a proper remap done which will smooth out the curves as well as upping power to at least 105bhp (which is what mine puts out)

ah cool, cheers jon. how much was your remap and where did you get it done?

My Custom Code remap was done by Midland VW and cost £245, its only the generic stage one but that's all you need

another 6n2 in the NE:), when them bbs's going on?:)

i'll get em prepped, painted and built up for the show season :) just need to source bolts for them... and 2 dishes. might keep them standard size though, undecided atm.

I have an account with the bbs bolt supplier in germany already... just give me the money and i'll order them.

You need two dishes bought and centres scotching and any scratches filling. I've got primer, laquer, thinners and activator. All you need to buy is some red paint.

Are the rs' 15s or 16s?

On the off chance they're 16s 34 bolt I've got some 16x7 barrels here if you want them?
