Well i finally managed to find an arosa in a scrappy and managed to get some bits and pieces for the interior... i'll chuck some photos up tomorrow probably when i get round to it!

 • Author

As previously stated, I'd found an arosa in a scrappy so i could nab the heater controls and headlight switch! managed to get a few photos for y'all... and i got the rear view mirror out of it because it was black!

So this happened the other day... and i can say i didnt expect it to be so easy!

the only problem I have is i cant adjust the clock... because the GTIs have an analogue clock, rather than a digital one! easy fix though... i'm gonna take the battery off around midnight and put it back on when the clock strikes 12... then it'll reset back to 00:00!

i'm currently rocking some genuine VW roofbars but i'm not too keen... so they'll be coming off soon. i might get the paint stripper and metal polish out and see how they come up polished for the giggles!

thats about all for now... slow but steady progress!

thanks for looking!

EDIT: photo fail.

where did you get the roofbars? I'm interested.

would you be willing to sell?

and how do you get your headlights so clear?

 • Author

the roofbars arent mine dude, they're my brothers but i'll see if he'd sell them.

i bought the headlights like that dude! its just hard to find a set that arent dirty inside!

 • 2 weeks later...

no problem cheers..

i've just got a set of wind deflectors as well but my windows struggle to go up with them in. do you have the same problem? they go up then back down a little as if something is restricting them? could this just be my motors on the way out or .. ?

Yeah mate mine do the same! its annoying as hell! haha i think its something to do with the deflectors not being stuck on properly..

Hey all,

My brother managed to find a colour concept that had been crashed and was being broken just round the corner from me, so I set about

getting the heated seat loom out of it to put into mine. It was a bit of a ballache but nevermind... seats out, all the lower dash came out, carpet out and then we began tracing the loom back to behind the dash and into the fusebox.

but it was a saturday morning... and the guy wanted to go home for just after lunch time. so instead of helping us take the loom out properly, he went and got a hacksaw and butchered the loom and dash to bits so he could get away home. So i ended up getting pretty much an entire interior loom with heated seat switches, a fusebox and all sorts of little trim bits he said i could have as he didnt plan on selling them for £50 all in. Bargain!

I haven't got round to fitting it just yet, but its a job for next week!

and i've bought a pair of lupo GTI wiper arms from Kam which need to be custom chopped and welded onto the polo arms... but I cant weld for shit so its a job for my dad! lol.

thanks for looking!

Andy.

Love the car 6n2 tdis are great

Don't the lupo arms match up then?! Fuck welding arms together

Don't the lupo arms match up then?! Fuck welding arms together

quick answer? No.

they fit on the splines of the motor fine but both of the lupo arms are straight, whereas on the 6n2, theres a kink in the drivers side arm so it clears the top of the bonnet. other than that, they're fine i think... we'll soon find out

Ahh I didn't know that! Keep us in the loop! Can't wait to see this in person!!

yup! the lupo GTI's have got proper aero wipers as standard too, rather than the retro fit ones. apparently they're a load better.

i'll get a photo of the lupo ones against the standard ones for reference tomorrow!

edit: the photos make it look better than it does in person though!

Looking good dude! How does the sunroof deflector fit? And did you get the one on ebay listed for a 6n? I presume it fits 6n2's as well?

What did you do with the speedo cluster, change the dials to the gti chrome bits? Or swap the whole thing?

Did you not have problems getting the needle back to 0mph?

Looks good though, would like to do this.

 • Author

The deflector comes with some weird bracket things that hook under the roof skin where the sunroof fits. i'll get a photo shortly! and i dunno if its that one, i've seen it and it looks the same but mine was listed for a 6n2!

Speedo cluster was done by swapping the TDI internals into the GTI outers and yes, it was a pain in the arse to get the speedo back to 0mph and the revs back to 0 too, but a bit of perseverance paid off!
