I'll get some better pictures of the car and the lights and stuff soon when I've got some other bits and bobs done ;)

Thanks George :)

Boring update alert!!

Well for the past few months I've been having issues with my EPC light, cutting out in traffic etc etc, been driving me mad. Went to one garage to get it on the diagnostics but they couldn't pin point it, second garage said it was coming up with a throttle body related fault. Tried cleaning the TB but a few days later the problem occured again so I decided to get a new TB and hope for the best.

Fitted the new one last night and took the car out for a run this morning and wehey, I actually have proper throttle response!! So far so good. I'm hoping the problem's fixed now, which means the car might actually make it to Edition :D It'll also hopefully motivate to get my ass back in gear as I've had such little motivation for ages now.

Wow probably too much writing there ha, so to make it bit more interesting and because I like pictures, a photo of the offending throttle body...

Bring on winter and some changes ;)

I have trouble with my car, EPC light like yours, my car pulsates quite often, just wondering if your car did the same before you changed the throttle body?

Also how much was the new throttle body?

It did but I think that was more to do with the coil as it's not done it since I changed that. Have you tried cleaning the throttle body etc?

The price varies really, I got mine for about £40 but there were some others up on ebay for around £90

And the best news of all, I'm £12.40 up after finding a £10 note and some change under the carpet, WIN! :-D

Am impressed with the carpet! what kinda of dye have you used?? mine needs doing badly! Still cant get the previous owners dog hairs out of the carpet, doin my nut in haha Oh yeh just a quick question, have you had much arch work done ?? or any at all?? and how muc camber are you running ?? cheers jack.

Thanks mate. It's just carpet dye off googles ;)

My rear arches are rolled and pulled (by my boyfriend) Not running any camber, other than natural camber from lowering. I'll be putting shims on the back over winter so I can go lower though as I'm not happy with the arch gap I'm having to run at the minute

haha sound, just a decent little mod. Ahh rite okay thanks, just getting a genral opinion from all around too see whats happenin really before i take the plunge lol

Very Clean with the black carpet, makes your red seats stand out to show off your interior... What fabric dye did you use?

needs some VW car mats :)

Thanks! It's just black carpet dye, the usual stuff sold on the internet. Pretty easy to find!

needs some VW car mats :)

They're on the list don't worry :) Making do with my cheapo ones for now, but new mats will be in ready for next year

Dont forget winter mats too!

Rubber ones :)

Keep carpet ones for summer..or maybe thats just me lol

  • Author

Yeah rubber ones are probably a good idea for winter! My carpet ones will do for this winter though, then new summer mats for next year

Re-covered the false floor today finally and got the boot back together. Sorry about the orange flashy photos, they're not brilliant but they'll do for the minute. I'll get some better ones tomorrow if I can

And just the picture from before to show the colour a bit better, and the comparison with the old material

SDC10531.jpg

Still not 100% happy but it's a lot better than it was before. It doesn't help that looking at them pictures it looks totally the wrong colour

Thinking of covering the rest of the box soon too (which I've been meaning to do for ages  !) to just tidy everything up

Thanks :)
