Project: About F**king time

Featured Replies

The story was far.....

I like GT's, I like bready's, I like black cars. So when this came up on ebay in 2006 (I think), there was only one sensible choice, so I bought it, trailered it back, and since then many other cars have got in the way since.

In 2007, I sold it to Tom (polocoupe1300). He got it back on the road and used it as a daily. In late 2008, he deicided the time had come to sell it on, so about a year ago, I jumped at the chance and bought it back.

Since then, with much stuff going on, I've not had chance to touch it. Now I have, and work begins.

Phase 1: Daily driver

Phase 2: Van conversion + tidying

Phase 3: More power

Phase 1

I need to start off with getting an mot on it.

Top mounts

Exhaust blowing everywhere it's possible for an exhaust to blow

Running problems - suspect AFM problems and needs timing setting up

No piccies today because the camera's flat. It's in the air, both struts are off. Refurbed struts off the silver coupe s ready to go on.

It's been a bastard to start, so I had the AFM apart and cleaned it up. Hooked the vac system back up in some sembelance of "properly", which made it a bit more willing, but something was still making it hard to start.

I went up the local garage and found some stuff that you put in your fuel tank that makes em run well. It's not cheap at just over a quid a litre, but it runs way better for having some in.

Cheers dude - just been using your thread to show me how to hook my vac system up :)

Lovely stuff, Think tom still misses this car!

Was wondering if you still had this, glad you do... Although I was gonna message you a few months back to see if you'd sell :ninja:

Cameras still being a f****r so again no pics.

Today was spent mostly spent with something with a blue oval (another story for another day), cleaning brake lines (everyone's favourite job), checking I had all the parts I need (most of the silver mk2 coupe I broke was parts that I'd put on new at the time), and making stuff ready to going on.
