haha what you got mate?

306 d turbo, with the turbo turnd slightly up. was tlkin to you with olly at the meet last year i was in the silver polo

  • Author

yeah i remember you mate, just weren't sure what you were driving now. my step dad had a 306 d turbo sport and that went pretty fucking well tbh. are they mechanical fuel pump's like on the early golf td lumps? (like i'm running in mine).

yep, iv had a bosch fuel pump fitted and garrett turbo. does go well. 24psi on boost:D

fuck knows what boost i'm running, my gauge only goes up to 1 bar (14.5psi) but it goes off the gauge at that so fuck knows. this turbo should push at least 20psi before it starts blowing hot air, i've got a T3 sat in the shed waiting to be rebuilt

here's another video

still sounds like a diesel, and a little bit clunky, but that deep throaty sound is lovely :)

yeah its still got that dieselness to it but its the noise it makes when i let off that gets me, kinda like some fucked up dump valve, that was what i was trying to catch in the video's btw ;)

now that sounds mint dam i want a td now like proper class that

bu i bet it aint healthy for it haha. sounds class tho, will try gettin olly to film me or summin. do it in daylight want to see what smokes comes out of it haha.

i love this jetta, i was upset when i found out it was a diesel but for the epic noise i can forgive you!

haha cheers mate

it's got a pikey tech straight through side exit on it now, it's lost that sweet noise it did on the over run but seems to pull a lot better than it did now. still couple more thing's to do to it before the rolling road day, wanna see if i can get it from its standard 75bhp into triple figures without spending any money on mods

You've removed the actuator completely??

i adjusted the star wheel, shaved the plastic washer in the LDA and turned the boost pin round to it's most aggressive profile. i want to do the governor mod too but don't really wanna do that till i've fitted a rev counter. i'll be playing with the max fuel screw probably this weekend too, i weakened it off to drag the MPG down a bit before i drove down to Yarmouth and never got round to turning it back up :lo:

of course not...

just disabled it

 that's not good, the wastegate will open way too easy, you need to adjust it to hold higher boost pressure

haha not bad, my friend was comming in his knickers with the turbo.

nice disclaimer too btw
