I'm looking at getting some new wheels for my car. Its lowered 50mm and this is how it looks atm:

I'm after either a nice set of steels or alloys but unsure of what looks best.

Without a doubt, schmidt modern lines (well, they suit anything really imo, I'm yet to see them look rubbish on a car) or anything 15/14" with thick 5 spokes and a bit of dish :-)

Its almost how long is a piece of string that question, people are going to have different opinions about what looks good, personally I've seen Alleycats, Modern Lines and TH Monos work well on a mk4

i don't think i've ever seen a mk4 with allycats on low enough to pull them off (going off that most allycats are 13")...

I recall a black one on passage dogs that looked pretty sweet was lower than the nonce mobile at the polo show that year

tbh it was almost impossible to get the nonce mobile any lower, i had half a inch between the sub frame and the road :(

I'm not a fan of Modern Lines unless they are the 16x9 ones which have no dish and the spokes protrude and are kind of concave. Can't go wrong with a set of RM/RS imo.

just look on websites and see what you like..

instead of buying wheels, just put low profile tyres on your steels, spray them in the desired colour, then buy some coilies and take them all the way down by removing helper springs.

You need to give a price range really mate, well two price ranges, one with, and one without tyres.
