Comments: Started to retrim my headlining and pillars in black, although the headlining doesn't look too great. THe pillars look ok though, will get some pics up when I'm done. Also I'm saving for some new wheels, thinking Borbet T's or RH cups. Might upgrade the front brakes to valver ones, as i hate these 8v ones.

Front has now been lowered more, I solved the problem of my adjuster rings touching the tyres by taking the helper springs out. I think my bro is getting me a debadged grill for my birthday in a couple of weeks, and valver bumper should be here this week. Going to order some legal pressed plates at some point, to get rid of my cracked front one.

Sprayed my parcel shelf yesterday so that it matches the seats, as I had the original L spec parcel shelf in there.

16v bumper came through yesterday so I thought I would start smoothing straight away. Most people seem to use a block of wood or some fibreglass to support the filler in the bumper, but i decided to use expanding foam, which I then cut flat:

Then filler over the top:

Rubbed the filler down:

Few dimples in it and it wasn't perfectly flush with the plastic in places so I gave it another light skim of filler:

I'll make a guide on how to do it if anyone wants, I'm lucky as I've worked with filler a lot helping my dad in his bodyshop since I was about 13 so know how to get it perfectly flat and how much hardener to use etc.

More progress tomorrow when I hope to finish the filling and get a coat of primer on.

Aye I can do, gotta wait for me to finish it. WIll try and get it done this week, may not be able to as i have a lot of work and college this week.

dont you have to block the gap first, then add expanding foam?????

I just taped a piece of card behind the hole, sprayed the foam in and when it was dry took the card off.

The car is going into my dads bodyshop next week so i can fill any dents, get rid of the little bits of rust and smooth the jacking points.

Front bumper is all smoothed up ready for paint, along with my 16v rear. Got an OEM spoiler that should be here this week, so that'll be getting sprayed next week as well.

So by the end of next week my car should be looking sweet, just need to get a nice set of wheels and finish my piller/headlining retrim and it'll be basically finished.

Edit: Also got a debadged grill, aero wipers and pressed plates on now, and got a proper grommet where my rear wiper should be.

I think you should get the dash done, or get a higher spec dash, and also get the darker interior carpets, as it looks abit mix and match at the moment.

Largest update so far really. I spent a few days this week at my dads workshop, filling dents, sorting rust etc. and heres the result. I'm happy with it apart from the fact that where I had to bend the front bumper to get it to fit, the filler where I have smoothed it has cracked and the bumper looks wonky somehow. Also I missed a bit of rust on one of the sills but I'm not too fussed. Everything but the roof, boot and one mirror has been resprayed.

Just bought some BBS RA's which I'm going to refurb in black with a white lip. As they are 14's this will allow me to go a bit lower as well.

Got bored of the tractor ride height and 15" baloons so decided to give my steelies a lick of paint. It's now got 70mm left on the front coilies to go down (no helper springs) and 35mm on the rear coilies (with helpers). I think I might run a pipe straight out the side instead of my backbox so I can slam it a bit more. It'll be sat on the floor if i wind it right down.

Haha, I don't want an open air, stupid leaky roof. If you ever consider buying one, make sure the roof is in good condition.

Yeah it could go lower, but i can't get into college unless I'm alone in the car anyway, and the exhaust scrapes a lot sooooo, I think that'll do haha. Not to mention the fact the driveshafts make a hell of a racket already.

I've been a bit bored of this car lately, and been looking to sell it and get a MK3 golf TDI. However, I've done a couple of bits to it and realised I do want to keep it, I just think I got bored of how it looked.

Anyway new mods include tinted orange front indies, Just tinted the inside so they have a brighter orange stripe around them, I think they look cool. Also Started to tidy my engine bay up a bit, got a lot of cleaning to do, and a MK3 golf front splitter:

Also did the mirrors black a while ago but haven't done an update since then:

The splitter was a bitch to fit, and still needs some adjusting, the corners could do with pulling in a bit tighter but it'll do for now.

Hehe, just as I get bored with the look of my 6N and need to do sth with that Good job with the black side mirrors :)
