quick much? lol I'm just getting an idea of how much work goes into it and well to be honest was going to ask a member on here if they could help me with mine and i would slide a bit of cash their way just a garage wants £80 to do it and i didnt want to pay that... was thinking more on the lines of £30-£40 + bacon sarnie and coffee =]

I assume its for your 6n? They aren't very difficult tbh, but if you dont know what you're doing then its best to have someone help you :)

Worth bearing in mind though is that you will probably need your tracking/camber doing after you've lowered it

aye i know about needing it tracking and stuff but the garage wanted £80 for fitting them no camber or tracking lol expensive much???

EDIT: yes for 6n =]

i did mine at an industrial estate at night because there was a flood light and some police man turned up!

they said that they thought we were criminals who were stripping a stolen car

but then i explained that i live on a steep bank and that this was the best place to do it because of the flood light flatness of the road etc

so two of them said that it was a good idea and started giving me a hand!

TAX MONEY AT WORK!

bloody hell lol didnt think it was that far!

well its upto you mate, can see if someones abit closer to you that will help or you can have a road trip the weekend? lol

well ill have a see if there is anyone closer if not ill have a nice drive down =] then i pay you to help me i use the term help because i like to get my hands a lil bit dirty lol but yeah id be handing u tools all morning haha... how much would you want mate??? well in general how much would people want???

The first time I did some it took a couple of hours but since then I reckon about an hour or so.

Not sure how far you are from Blackpool but I'll do it for beers.

I think the general going rate of people helping out is £15 or a crate of beers :)

I did mine myself. Took about 4 hours. The most time consuming bit was putting the wheels on and off to get the right height, and the spring compressors took fucking ages to use as well.

blackpool is about 60 mile from me mate i would be up for driving anywhere really lol just want to get it low =] and well ill be ordering my coilovers next week i think so its either brand new ones or see if i can get hold of some cheaper ones of someone =] happy days

Hmm, I didn't figure in the adjustment period as I just bottom them out and leave it.

I guess that would add some time on but that shouldn't require assistance.

Should be able to get it all done and dusted in a couple of hours

matty its not a big job really hardest part is getting all the seized bolts off ha ha ha, oh and you will need spring compressors to get your old springs off.

If i were you get some plus-gas on all the bolts and leave it a day then start putting coilovers on.

Oh and where in hudds are you?

  • Author

in meltham mate =] are you from hudds??? I'm absolutely useless at anything like this mate and i dont have the tools so i think itd be easier for me to watch someone else do it and then maybe try it at a different time you know what i mean???

now isn't really the weather or i'd offer - its about 30 mins from meltham to mine.

spring compressors? i just used around 10 cable ties, i would recomen using a few more though :paranoid:
