the G60 engine is pretty weak tbh, would i be right in thinking that the rallye was VW's answer to the Escort Cosworth?

if so that's a pretty big fail...

This was probably VAG's answer to a new Escort Cossie, although more aimed at the performance BMW's and Mercs.

haha that was basically a family supercar. not as quick as an s4 is nowadays, but back then it was one of quickest cars around. stil now i think only the veyron is quicker to 30mph
