2000 Polo 6N2 LA7W Silver Tailgate & R-Bumper Respray Cost?

Featured Replies

Hi Happy New Year Firstly

Guys just kind of confused at the moment I have had an X Reg Polo 6N2 1.0 in Silver as my first car. The rear bumper and tailgate was damaged so me and my dad got it replaced with a different shade of parts off eBay for £45.

Problem is they all fitted fine after a bit of DIY. But now I'm stuck with a two shaded car. The original colour is a more metal light reflex silver whereas the new parts are of a dull silver with a hint of blue in them.

How much do you think a reasonable price is, for getting the rear bumper and tailgate sprayed.

With it being a similar colour may it be cheaper to get it sprayed or do they spray it from scratch?

Your help would be much appreciated guys. :)

It sound like you may have LB7Z - Satin Silver Metallic, for those panels. The cost will depend on the type of job you want. For a pro bodyshop, i would have thought around £350 to do the best job, but a backstreet sprayer may do it for £200. Professional jobs are best all the way, as they will be able to remove the glass from the tailgate to spray the glass reveal.

My Polo is at the bodyshop at the min, which is called Hexham Motor Bodies in Hexham, Northumberland, who are very well priced, and the lads who work there seem very enthusiastic. It is costing £1300, and that is a full respray including all the doors off, and the closings, glass out etc. (it costs £45 per bonded side window, and £65 for the rear glass to be removed and refitted).
