acid dipping plastic? haha.

they were an odd size [between 8 and 9mm] so alot of the heads are damaged and 2 snapped in the wheels.

a chap i know is gonna try and make some up [he works for a nut and bolt company]

hahahaha

I didnt realise they where plastic

Powdercoating is out too in that case.

70 quid to get the lips polished on 4 rims........yeh they have done a good job, but dayam it isnt that hard to do it yourself.

i aint hatin' I'm just statin'

I'd agree with that if he'd of paid like £50 per wheel..

Like when i had mine done, kerb damage removed and all 4 fully polished in 5 days for £100.. you really cant complain at that, and i'd much rather spend a tonne to get them done to such a great standard in 5 days, then fork out for the equipment myself, spend absolutely ages getting the paint off, trying to get the horrible kerb scuff out without squaring off the lip, and polishing all 4 in less than a week, while working full time, and needing them done in time for Spring Fest

Fair enough, if i couldnt get them done for less that the £250 that PureKlas quoted i might of actually considered all of the above.

Rob.. i cant remember who it was but someone got some fake splits refurbed a while ago and replaced the old rivets with BBS style bolt heads ;)

Was it Vic? He's got gold bolts in his RSL's i think....

i agree with you...juggling 2 jobs and college means i just haven't got the time or energy to do them myself.

and the bloke was a proper sound geezer to talk to...had a chat for about 10mins with him.

everyones suggested BBS bolts...but that means I'm looking at about £100 just for some bolts that I'm gonna have to cut up.

i have come across these...I've just got to measure mine and see how the sizes compare:

lips are easy to polish... thats all I'm saying.

i think a nice bright colour, make the most of the oportunity of having a white car, ANY colour will work, just dont do black or grey or whatever cos thats jsut boring.

maybe a pastel blue or purple if you want subtle? i just think its a great opportunity to try something

looks awesome anyway, i should have taken my cookies there but their a mission away & i was on a strict strict budget at the time :(

& about the bolts, have you not thought about just smoothing over the holes? i know they will look like standard steffans, but dont ruin a nice finish with shitty bolts if there not bling or clean, they will let the wheels down otherwise

I'm trying to get some made up and then give them to a mate who knows someone who works for a chroming company...so thats what id be doing.

and its a bit late to smooth the holes over anyway haha.

Top finish. I think I might need to get my Borbets polished!!

looks smart pal dont colour code centres as its too much like chrispys then, i would go another route with them

This sort of blue?

Would look cool against the white not to ott

agreed

Rip off devo's mk1 which has steffan's on and simply get a plate made up which covers the holes and elimates the attitude of people towards fake splits.

Dubmeister are the only company that sell them new...i rang them the other day and they said theyve never been asked before so they dont know anyone who sells them.

Wheel Whores is no help as I'm getting the "fake splits can fuck off" attitude.

ROB I'm sure i can get some from work pal! bring a stud with you to the midsdubclub meet on the 14th and i will check at work for you!

yes that blue would amazing

sweet.

ill need about a 100...possibly more just to be safe.

and as for covering the holes over...i dont really care if there fake splits, its means i can give a 2 finger salute to the haters haha.

The Smoors i recently bought are fake splits, they came without any plastic studs. I've looked everywhere for some too mate, the bbs one's are expensive for what they are!

I've come to the conclusion of tapping the holes out (as long as theres enough thickness there) and using some stainless steel button heads from work, my place is nut and bolt galore seriously.

It depends what sort of bolts you want i suppose as i doubt you'll find some brand new plastic replacements.
