How are they snow wise, off to pick a car up on a trailer on Sat, cant be doing with loads of the white devil!?

Thanks, I checked that earlier... but my gf's daughter who is in Leeds says there was a foot of snow today on m62 west out of Leeds and its down to 1 lane....!?

M62 between manchester and huddersfield is fine. Heard on the radio this morning that it's not so good around jn11 but that's just the other side of the m6 anyway so shouldn't be a worry, plus it seemed to be because of an accident so will presumably clear up. They didn't say anything else about the M62 nearer Leeds but it might be a bit to far over t'hills for a manchester radio station to report on :)

Cool, I'll jus check that before I leave in morning... was gonna go A1 then A66 to M6 but I know that A66 is notorious for closing in bad weather, so prob wont risk it....

i think the main roads are pretty good... took a girl at work 2.5hrs this morning to get to Bolton from Warrington however...

just take it easy on the side roads - everyone round here seems to be running outta salt

I commute over the M62 from Halifax to Cheshire every day. Problem this week has been snow and ice on minor roads - once on the motorways you're ok, even over Saddleworth etc on the 62. Just be aware, there is snow encroaching into the outside lane in places - don't want to be hitting a patch of that at speed!

Used it when I needed to get back home from the south coast on Tues night. A lot of the traffic reports were claiming roads down to one lane or 9 million inches of snow, but the cameras showed otherwise...

When I was checking those traffic cams when I was at work last week, they were covered in snow! They need little wipers on them!
