Can someone tell me what the input sensitivity does on the amp, as i was wondering if it would make the sub louder.

If that is not the case would buying a more powerful amp make the sub louder, as i have only got a 350watt amp powering a 1200watt sub.

first off what is the rms power of the sub as i would imagine the 1200w you mention will be the max power which is a pointless measurement

input sensitivity/gain is used to match an amplifiers output to the input from the h/u rca

to set an amp up correctly you ideally need to use a scope and a test disc but as a rough set up turn your amp sensitivity all the way down and then play a bassy musical track and turn up the volume on the h/u until you start to hear a small amount of distortion when you hear this turn the h/u down around 2-3 notches to ensure a clean musical signal

now leaving the volume at that same level play the track again and then slowly start to turn the sensitivity up until you hear distirtion through the sub and again when you have reached that point back the sensititvity back down again

the sub rms power is 400.

so i just got to play around with input sensititvity to get it right.
