My central locking stopped working yesterday on my 6n i can open my drivers door still with my remote locking, but it doesnt trigger anything else to open.

I've just had to do a 75 mile trip while my red light was on because i couldnt open my fuel cap!

anyone know what the problem is?

or how i can atleast get my fuel cap to open ?

6n or 6n2? I don't know if the 6n2 still uses pneumatic pump like the 6n? Either way it's probs the pump or a leaky tube from the pump so there's no air pressure to open the locks

Have the exact same problem bud, does anyone know of an emergeny release for them? 6n

IIRC I dont think there is an emergency release.

You could check in the boot though behind the cap may be some sort of lever you could pull...would make sense for it to be there.

this happened to mine probally the central locking pump and you can easily pop the cap without breaking the locking pin (not that you need it anway, its rare you get people on the rob for petrol these days) by just using a screwdriver and a bit of force

take off the pipe leading to the central locking pump (located in the rear quarter, access from the boot)

you may need to use a screwdriver to pry it off.

then suck/blow on the pipe to lock/unlock the fuel flap.

if you reach behind the pannel in the boot up toward the full filler you can pull the lock pin back. i had to do it on mine recently.

I've had similar on both my 6n's, and these posts always come in winter or rainy times.

it is a common fault where the central locking pump is in the boot, to the right behind the fold down flap, is a nice puddle location, where water gets in, and forms a puddle that the pump sits in, corroding the internals and rendering it useless

i found mine all sodden, took it apart, pritty simple it just prys off, and get some wd40 and a tooth brush and go wild on the circuit board and scrub off the green mould

i managed to save both of mine, if it is heavily corroded then a bit of pikey wiring might be needed, but if it is knackered, you can just get a car battery and just direct wire the pump motor to release your cap and doors.

I fixed few of these pumps as well, but have to admit that being unlucky I had my pump with faulty motor. So had to change motor. I can help anyone with fixing pump if you live near Hatfield. As for fuel cap, if you put your hand behind pump, you will find metal stick(sorry for my English) and pull(or push depends what you want open or close) it. Don't need to connect battery or blow air. easy

i bought a second hand pump and placed it end on in the location rather than on its back never had a problem since
