I have seen the pictures on tyrestretch, but how does it looks on car (VW Polo)??

Here is also an picture I found..175.50.13 on 8" & 195.45.13 on 8.5"

heres a 195/45 on an 8j on mine, it looks very similar depending on tyre brand and offset. Offset is pretty (actually, very) important when seeing if stretch will get you under the arch, just because one wheel fits a car with stretch, another with a lower offset might not.

for the record, they didn't fit comfortably without arch work.

I need 165/50 to stop the scrubbage, like I say, depends on the offset, its trial and error though really.

bridgestone and nankang give the best looking strech imo..

i have 175/50 bridgestone potenza's on my 13's and looks spot on imo..

I'll try and get some pics up but I always ahve trouble, but I'm running 175/50/14's on 8j rims on my daily. Touch wood no problems but they are pretty damn strecthed!! Don't think I'd want any more on a daily!

195/45 proxes stretch awfully IMO on an 8j.

i swapped mine after one day to 185/45!

the 165/50 is a rather big stretch

If only they did 185/45 n 14's :(

Yeah but it's not as big and noticeable as the nankang one. Couldn't quite find a like for like comparison between the two but this isn't far off, the sizes are different but the wheel with the proxes is 1.5" wider and the tyre is just over an inch wider. But look at the stupid shape it makes the tyre take, the proxes dont look half as bad. I've seen them both in the flesh and proxes defo look less daft.

165/50s in nankangs stretch terribly

Oh yes it can definately be done no question, but there's no reason why you would ever want it done.

Because of the "huge" tyre wall, it won't look that stretched.

The reason I made this topic is because I want another tire dimension on my Schimdt ML 8x15's, today I have 195/45.

And I cant get it as low as I want with this dimension, so I consider 185/45 or 175/50.

I like strectch...but I dont want to have TO much stretch.

It's hard to decide!

So in effect, it would look normal but actually be stretched?

I may need it doing as the wheels I'm getting need to be run with a 55 profile otherwise I'll have a big arch gap. I've got 195/55s on my current wheels, and plan to swap them onto this new set. Desperate measures, in other words.
