What Is The Best Way To Remove The Bump Stripes For Around Front , Side And Rear Of The Car ?

What Am I Left With ? Is It Smooth Or Are There Holes ?

And Is There Such Things As Red Bumper Strips To Replace The Black Ones ?

Thanks ,

Pete

REEEEEEEEEEEEPOOOOOOOOOST!

Lol theyres plenty of advice already on here about this subject.

Front and rear, you need to remove the bumpers and pop them from behind, they're just attached with a series of clips. They will leave a big ass recess in your bumper

As for sides, best way for getting them off is to use hot (not boiling) water to melt the glue then pull em off with help of an old credit card. They will leave a series of small holes approx 4mm diameter, and a lot of glue residue. Use some sticky stuff remover to get rid of this, its available from halfords

I think its unlikely to find red bump strips, you may be able to get them primed/prepped and paint them later, ask your vw dealer for part no.

However, if you don;t bend em too much and sand them, you can easily spray and laquer them off the car if you use the right primer (plastic primer)

Hope this helps

Ok Thanks , Didnt Think Youd Buy Red Ones , But I'd Think About Sanding Down And Painting !

Maybe Just Leave Them As They Are !
