someone must know!?!?

I'm sure they are near the fuses, just hidden from normal view, think you might have to remove the instrument cluster to get to them.

They are around that area, I've removed them all from a 6n 16v before and I remember pulling them all out from behind the dash while sitting in the drivers seat, just the exact location I can't recall. If you find it though and need one I have a spare that was working when it was removed if you want it.

hey up dude... never got round to figuring out who was who on here from the polo show! whats you name bud?

so you got to the relays from the drivers seat... I tried looking all around the recess with the fuses in but no joy...

should i be looking more towards the centre console area...

cheers,

How do mate, its Steven :)

I honestly can't remember the location of them mate, I remember seeing alot of wires and shit behind the instrument cluster but over to the right hand side slightly (Behind the far right air vent), thats as far as I can remember as it was a good 7 or 8 months ago I did this and it was a car I was breaking for parts so I didn't care where things came from just that I got them out in one piece.

haha its so much fun rippin cars to bits n not having to think about where everything comes from... before i got in to workin on cars myself spent a night with a crate of beer about 5 tools one of which being a sledge hammer "breaking" a 306....FUN TIMES!!!

will investigate relay situe... you reckon i'm best to pull the clocks out to get at it...

You wouldn't think it but with the wheel off and the clocks out there is so much more room and access to pretty much anything important behind the dash. Thats how I would go in search of them.

sounds about right but really cannot be arsed takin the wheel etc off... but i guess if needs must!! Bloody Valvers!!!

Tell me about it, I'm having a nightmare with mine just now, slightly worse than a fucked relay though I think haha.

cheers evans...

is that from a valver... are the relays underneath the fusebox?

The fuse box has a full row of horizontal fuses above the vertically positioned ones...

upto about 30 iirc...

Unless the 16v layout is drastically different form all other 6n's then the relays should also be on the fusebox. The diagram is from a 16v though, yes.

Ian.

its an r plate... but i cant see them!!! will look harder!

i don't know if you've checked your other thread, but i still think you are wasting your time even looking for the fuel pump relay, i don't think it's the cause of your problems in this case

not had clocks out yet but cant find it anywhere behind the dash!?!?!

ah it's one of those.... try looking inside the panel on the end of the dashboard when the drivers door is open.... ahem, still think you are wasting your time though.....

haha... cheers mate... i'm not worried if i am wasting my time its just that this is the last port of call before i have to get my mech up!

hummm... cant see anything panel-like on the end of the dash....

did you try the thing i suggested in the other thread??

Hey, not sure if this is any help...I might be being dumb :? anyway but i have a 99 6n 8v, was looking to change the wiper relay with a programmable one (no. 99), once i got it couldn't figure out for the life of me where the relay was. Then i took a picture with the intensions of posting it on here when i saw them lol. Anyway not sure if the relay your looking for is on this board or not but worth a shot. It was behind the fusebox...there was only 4 or 5 relays there thou not as many as shown in the picture above.

Its sort of clearer in the picture as you can see the little sqaure buggers. lol

Yeah i can see the rule about DON'T GIVE OUT DUFF ADVICE. IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER THEN DON'T ANSWER - SIMPLE!!! but just incase :p

I had to move fusebox out of the way to get proper access, take the screws out and slides up iirc.
