P-C's Mk4 GLX

Featured Replies

Model: POLO MK4 GLX

Engine: 1.6. 8v. When I got the car (just under a year ago) I had the head shimmed, new valves and pistons. Ported and polished. Manifold heat guard removed. Up-rated spark plugs and HT leads. De-cated and strait through exhaust from manifold to back box.

Suspension: Supersprint Coilovers Fully adjustable up-to 120mm.

Brakes: X-Drilled Discs, and green stuff pads.

Wheels and Tyres: Depends on the day of the week. I have, Standard 16v 5 spokes . Dezent for run around. BBS Split-rims for shows. Audi 80 Quattro rims some times. PORSCHE TELEDIALS. Usually wrapped in Good year Eagle F1 (GSD3). Or Conti sport contact.

Exterior Styling: Subtle Smoothing. Clear indicators front and side. Mk5 Rears. Black badges front and back. Removed rubbing strips. Removed Mud flaps. Removed badges. De-locked passenger handle. Rear wiper removed and blanked. Green LED Front side light bulbs (“chavy” but I like them). Front fogs (standard on GLX). 16v Bumpers (standard on GLX). Stickers change weekly.

Interior Styling: All Standard GLX extras, 16v seats, GLX gears knob. Electric heated mirrors. A/C. New set of factory mats from main dealer. All interior lighting swapped to the Seat Ibiza set up (so its RED) 8v centre console badge from a mk2 golf. Momo team 280mm wheel

ICE and Security: Factory fitted alarm immobiliser. With remote central locking. JVC headunit with dvd player, screen in dash. All hooked up to an external hard drive with music, pictures and movies. Sony Amp in boot running a 12” JVC amp. Up rated Sony component speakers in front.

Comments: Owned the car for about 10months now. Its done just under 60k over all. Runs sweet as a nut! Its no show stopper I know. But as a daily, its perfect! Body work is in brilliant condition. This is the 2nd mk4 I’ve owned. And the 6th polo over all.

Future plans: MORE SMOOTHING! I have a new tailgate lined up so ill be de-locking that and smoothing the badge. Smooth the repeaters. Smooth the front bumper. Engine wise, id like a Sports manifold and Sports Cam. Induction kit maybe, but I want it to stay kind of OEM looking under the bonnet. Here’s the surprise, I just got my hands on a NOS kit that I may end up putting into this if not one of my other dubs. Just for a play. It can either be a 25bhp gain or a 45bhp gain. So we shall see. Brakes are going have braided hoses and drilled discs put on, hopefully in the next few days!! Ill keep you posted.

Other then that id like maybe a bonnet bra and that about it, ow and of coarse I'm always on the look out for my next set of rims, but then who isn’t! Thanks for reading, hope you like! Comments welcome! Cheers! Aston Aka Polo Collector.

Nice.

What`s the volume like with the decat and straight through?

  • Author

Not to much, tbh i dont want it to loud, its only a standard back box mind, got the tip trimmed now so that you cant see it from behind.

Thats good to know as I`ve got plans for a decat and pipe myself, had similar on my Golf and it got a tad loud on long journeys.

Thats well nice :)

Thanks man! pretty standard looking i know! sort of going for the whole OEM+ look, with little things that only dubbers would notice. :)

Cheers
