I'm about to pay for my first insurance policy with Elephant, they were the cheapest for me by a long shot as i mentioned in an earlier post.

Anyone have experience with these and willing to shed light on them before i take the plunge in2 the dark lol!

Generally quite a good company, I've used them for a few years now.

Only critism I have is the fact you try to call them, end up in a que for 3 hours then speak to someone who has learnt English from a CD.

And they sometimes think your a bit of a fool, for example, I insured a Polo 1.0 Genesis with them for a few months, bought another Polo 1.0 Genesis and wanted to swap the policy over. They tried to say I had to pay about £100 more as the car was different, it took me a good half hour to convince them the cars were the same just a different colour and registration and therefore should be the same to insure.

But apart from that all good :)

I've been with them for the last 3 years on my Polo. They've been fine, but I've had no reason to call them apart from adding mods so I can't comment on their actual ability as an insurance company :-)

Mods have been pretty cheap to insure (although I have nothing to compare against)

I'd agree with kwijibo in that it's touch and go whether you get a fluent English speaking person, but generally I have done. In the few times I've called them I don't remember waiting a stupid amount of time either.

If it makes you feel a bit less "in the dark", I believe they are basically a re-branded Admiral.

I'll be staying with them until somebody else is cheaper!

Wonder if Admiral will do the same? They're better known so you'd think they'd be more reliable in the event of a claim!

I had to get quotes today & Admiral were cheapest followed by Elephant. Directline wanted over 700 quid for my '97 standard 1.4 8v, errrr...don't think so

I'm with admiral, just got my renewal through. Its gone up...

So looking on comparison sites and elephant are cheaper by 250 quid! Seem good with mods. Think i'm going with them tbh. Just got to try HIC, brentaker and flux, usual suspects
