The breadvan's coming up for renewal so plugged the details into MoneySupermarket.com peeps looking for Classic Car insurance.

(Currently with Lancaster Insuance who are pretty good - renewal £134.10)

Fully Comp Polo C 1.0L on an '86 D, 3k a year with 1 years NCB with me being 44 in Bedford and claim / conviction free.

1st Quote came back with a useful £119.21 - may follow this up, not heard of them before... any feedback would be good.

At the other end, DoneDeal wanted £9,282.83 !!!

Anyone seen a worse spread...?

I had 9.5K on a £400 Lada Niva 1.7 4x4 with Done Deal. almost wet myself laughing, cheapest was £350 odd.

i dont actually have the car it was just fun when they phone you up.

how many other people have put details in just to see what they could only dream of

£2300 is about right for a 100bhp car at 17...

wow that is a stupid quote who do they think is gunna buy that, i got a quote on a rx7 for 3k and a vr6 for £1800 which aint to bad shame i can never afford a rx7 with its 8 mpg.

And they actually think your willing to pay about 7k for a Sporty Ford Focus

Haven't done it for a long while although a mate had a £102k quote for a classic Ferrari

I don't get anywhere near £1k now, even with every mod declared :)

I'm paying at the moment £1200 a year on my mk3 1L i have 3 points a crash all within in 6months. called my insurance company up and a quote for a g40 and its was £1245 i think :) cant wait till i need to renew it.. g40 time haha
