22mm Master cylinder

Featured Replies

Hi folks... Just wanna check once and for all what master cylinder am I looking for mfor my 1991 polo GT..

I think the seals inside my own are going. Pedal is very random... Hard sometimes, soft others and if you hold it at lights it sometimes slips toward the floor and car begins to roll back slightly if your on a hill... Hope I'm right to diagnose master cylinder... Brakes all around seem fine... It just got full check on brake lines, new front discs +pads...

Now THE QUESTION IS > what car came from VW with the 22mm master cylinder that is considered an upgrade for the 19mm polo item??

Is it a Passat item? a corrado g60 item? a mk2 golf gti 16v item? Anyone have a part number?

I tried my motor factors today and German Swedish French and explained it to them and they just look at me like I've two bloody heads...

Is the part much dearer at VW cos they at least know what there talking about...

And I know the new one will have four outputs where as the old one has three.... Can they provide a blank for the other also..?

What car, model and year do I ask for the master cylinder from in order to get the right one?

Any help would be great and sorry if its been covered a hundred times.. I treid a search and never got a definative answer...

Cheers

Cliff

golfs and passats mate, GSF list them as 22.2mm on thier website, the passat iirc is 4, but the golf is 3, if you find the correct part listed you can ring them up and then can open them and check for you

still got reciept for your subframe fella here

65276 BRAKE MASTER CYL-22.2mm PA 4/88 >12/96 34.20

65277 BRAKE MASTER CYL-FAG 22mm PA 4/88 >12/96 54.00

they list the same for golfs, thats under passats the above bit.

=D

GSF that btw lad

vw will be hella expensive check out VAGCAT

You come to my rescue again.. Fair play for that...

Now I dont mean to be an awkward git... maybe I'm too tired but what does that mean?

Have you just given me two part numbers for it?

One passat - one golf? The passat has 4 outputs the golf has 3?

Actually hold on i googled that and think i understand...

Two parts listed - both the same - different manufacturers??

Maybe ill sleep on it...

both passat in the above link, but the golf has the same part numbers.

i think the difference is the 0.2mm bit, but aye deffo has 3 and one has 4 ports unless theyve changed in the last year.

pm karl_clcoupe too hes just fitted one and rates it highly

The one that has 4 comes with a blanking thing i think

I was looking at them on GSF a while back, it says somewhere.
