wow. thats amazing. dont actually know him oher than on CP but glad he's alrite. My 2 older brothers where in a similar incident. One had collasped lungs etc, both legs shattered and needed rebuilt as the engine actually squashed him, he had to learn how to walk all over again, he also broke 4 ribs and other bits and bobs that i can't really remember, and my other bro broke a few bones and also got part of the car through his scull and damaged part of his brain. All fine tho and still getting done for speeding lol. That was in a fully rebuilt rover vitess with 450bhp in the 80's. lol

I like a good bargain so most my cars were cheap to buy lol. My mini was £150 but in a state needed new tyres, floor pan,boot patching in couple places, new A panel, new rear subframe 4x new tyres but I brought it a year before I was driving and slowly repaired it

Parents still think I must of been speeding (but as you know 40+ in a mini into that would be far worse)

Then 1.3 MK2 Golf which cost me £150

Then the 71 beetle

Then the Mk3 Golf cost me £200

Then the shitty 1.4 Mk4 Golf

Ended up doing alot of motorway miles so managed to get this focus for only £300 more then sold the 99 MK4 :)

Next will be VAG i think (dunno about VW tho) Like a few SEAT leons and cupra s's

Currently 20 btw so had few cars since driving

Correct mate...A LOT of them were bought purely to break for parts.

I've worked in the motor trade for almost 20 years now and in the 90's you couldn't

get money for scraping cars,in fact you had to pay them to take it away so there

were always lots of cars lying around but since the DVLA went all computerised

bangers are getting harder to come by and the 2k trade in scheme hasn't helped.

So far in 8 years of driving I've only had polos or polo derived volkswagen group cars. I've had ten cars plus a couple of mk3 squarebacks bought for spares

1990 G reg mk2 ranger - Got rear ended by a taxi, long since dead.

1991 J reg mk3 polo 1.3 cl square. Traded this in for the mk5 below, saw it a few years ago. Don't know if it's still on the road

1991 H reg mk3 gt square. Got rear ended by uninsured driver in 2003. Kept it 'til the MOT ran out. Long since scrapped.

2000 W reg mk5 estate 1.9 TDI. Didn't keep this long but in hindsight I regretted selling it. Kept meaning to buy another but never did.

1991 mk3 H reg gt square. Decided to go back to mk3s, this car was in bad shape when I got it. Used engine/box from the GT above and got some panels off a genesis I broke. Looked pretty good then. Sold to steve_O who kept it for a couple of years but then sold it on again and it was involved in an accident and subsequently scrapped.

1991 mk3 J reg gt square - Owned this one about two years. 1.4 ABD conversion and lots of other stuff done. Great handling but not great on fuel. Decided I needed a diesel for a daily driver. Not sure where this is now, it's had about 10 owners since I sold it in 2006.

1986 mk2 C reg ranger - Bought this not long after I bought the GT above. Converted it to SPI as I was having major issues with the carb and had all the parts to do it. Put it up for sale once I bought the saloon but nobody wanted it so it ended up getting scrapped after the MOT/Tax ran out.

1983 mk2 old Y reg saloon - Still got it

2001 new Y reg skoda fabia PD100 - Daily driver for work. Very comfortable and economical, but not very fast.

2003 52 reg seat cordoba PD130 - Replaced the fabia with this in early 2008, it's quite battle scarred after a polish woman reversed into the side of it but mechanicals are still perfect after 115,000 miles.

when i was 16 years old,i had an scirocco mk1.at least for 2 weeks,then it got scrapes .

2 years later,i bought my polo mk3 wich is still in my possesion. at least i inherited the lupo fsi of my grnadfather.and the daily bitch is a normal lupo 1.0

polo and both lupos are still in use

First car 1.4 MK5 escort, had for a couple months

4th was an AX GT, probs my favourite car I've owned for sheer fun

5th was a 95 mercedes c250

6th was a pug 306 diesel

7th was a pug 205 GT (basically same car underneath as the AX GT, but not as fun for some reason???)
