New Guy :D

Featured Replies

Wellll yea, pretty simple. I've turned 17, not learning to drive just yet (had issues with epilepsy) and now have decided on either a Mk2 Breaddie, Mk2f Coupe or a 6n as my first car so thought this would be the best place to get looking :D

To be honest a 6n is almost getting to the point of being "too new" for me, i personally prefer older stuff so the breaddie would be first option, it's just a case of finding a cheap (as in maximum of £250-300) one round my area (West Sussex) I don't quite have the funding just yet so I'll have a couple of weeks to look, feel free to PM :)

Hi Jay

Hey dude

I'm 17, just about to turn 18 had problems with fit's too but I'm all cleared now whoop whoop

Yeah deffo go for a mk2 or a mk2f (there also known as mk3s alot of the time) there awsome little retro cars, but new enough to still be relitivly reliable and good to learn in

I still aint passed my driving test yet but I've done over 700 miles in the car since I brought it, its never gone wrong anf strats first time even in the cold!!

mabey lookto spend a little higher say 400ish for a mk2 500ish for a mk2f as you can get one in exellent condition for such a small amount of money more than buying something knakered!

Good luck finding one!

Rich

RK92; Not fun at all is it? I got lucky and have only had the one, but still gotta have another EEG (later this week) to determine if i still actually have it, but I've been given the ok to drive now.

I don't mind if I don't get one that's in perfect working condition straight away, I'm sure I know enough about how cars work after 2 years day release and 2 years full time on mechanics courses to be able to sort most problems :D and for any I can't solve? Then there's my brother or Dad

Like I said I'm not exactly in a hurry to find anything, just wanna see what's around :)

Haha nice one! The extent of my mechanical knowlage is what I've read in magazines and what I've done my Polo thats never goes wrong! I'm slowly teaching myself though :D

Yeah its crummy isnt it I had a few a couple of years ago, I went for tests and that but they never really found what it was. Had another one out of the blue recently, the docter at the hospital asked if i was learning to drive, I said yeah so he didnt record it so It wouldnt destroy my chances, I was like haaa what a ledgend!

I'm sure youll find a polo soon enough theres plenty of them around! there fun little cars to drive, and fun to do up!

Heheh, fair enough.

I had tests not long after mine and the EEG showed that it actually was epilepsy, I've just been lucky and not had another fit since april '08, I still feel like I have it sometimes but I'll find out on friday when I go for my 2nd EEG. If that's clear I start to come off medication in march/april, but if it's not I get referred to an adult specialist which is fair.

Like I said, I'm not looking to find one instantly, I just thought I'd get one while they're relatively cheap, plus it'll be more of an incentive to save up the money for insurance when it comes to it.

Cool, well best of luck with the eec tests man, I'm sure youll be fine :-D

Cheeers buddeh.

I'm actually in East Grinstead and I go to Crawley college

when you get a car, if I ever see you driving towards me, i promise not to flash my lights erratically.

Ahah if you do it i'll try to aim my car at yours

Ok, so I've been looking at earlier polos now and I'm quite liking the mk2 coupe. How much would you say to expect to pay for one (1l or 1.1)

They came in 1.05 and 1.3 versions. Can't give you an accurate price.

Ahh well 1.1 was near enough to 1.05 xP

If I can't find a coupe I'm definately going for a breadvan

Welcome to the club,
