Parking ticket

Featured Replies

Yo guys, a mate of mines got a parking ticket the other day, he parked in a designated space, went to the machine to pay and it said parking is free after 6pm, but he still got ticketed, it wasn't from some back street company or owt like that, straight from Leeds city council, he's dead set on contesting it, does he have a chance of winning?

It was on sovreign street in Leeds if that's any help :)

What time did they put on the ticket? Go back and take a picture of the machine.

was about 730 i think, ill check it out when i next see him :)

I've contested parking fines a few times.

What I did was pay the fine but inclose a letter expressing your view on the ticket i.e. you don't think you should have got one for the reason you stated.

With me they have always sent me a letter back apologising for the mistake and the fine money back.

i got a ticked saying i the number plate on my pass was wrong which it was so i went changed the pass (something i should have done before) and tolled them about it and as i always had a pass was just lazy they let me off the ticket.

my landlord gets tickets all the time but gets off them as he is parking out side houses he owns and the council only let the occupant have a pass so he just sends them a standard letter and they cancel the ticket

as said above take a pic of the machine, if it says free after 6 they cant charge you
