They do or at least they do on the massive canal near me (we once traveled it on a homemade raft made from oil barrels hahaha)

How else would they get the boats in and out of the canal?

That picture is my worst fear... When I drive near big water or over bridges I get a flash in my head of that happening and wondering how the fuck I'd get out alive or without drowning God damn brain!

That happened just along the canal from where i work...rumour is that

West Lothian Council have handed them a 10k bill for lifting the car out

and for cleaning up the canal afterwards too....

I think its great that they tried it. It was a calculated risk at the end of the day.
