What engine can i put in 1990 polo coupe, without modifying anything , and the transmission is with 5 gears...can i put something from a golf mk1 or 2. now i have 1.0l

ok, i found polo coupe mk2 GT, the car has no papers and the owner has no idea what year it is.. and whas the engine

how do i know that its a 1.3l, the car has 4 gears, and my 1.0 has 5 gears.

so can i put this engine in my car without swaping the transmision, and how will i know that its a 1.3l.

the car looks like shit but the engine starts instantly after sitting ther for 1 year. but i can take it for a spin couse the brakes dont work.

look at the engine code on the block. i can't remember where it is off the top of my head. i think above the gearbox

5th gear was an optional extra.

above the alternator where the engine mount meets the block,

the car is left hand drive and a proper mk2 GT, it has a servo and everything!

I reckon the engine could be a GK engine code. keep it as it mate, dont mess about changing stuff, tidy it up and youll be on with a rare minter

yes, but i have a coupe in almost brand new condition, but it has 1.0l, and the red one from the pictures is for sale but it has no papers so it cant be registerd.. and i could get it for 50 ponuds(the whole car), my plan is to take out the engine that is probably 1.3l , and put it in mine.

if i dont buy it the car will become that little metal cube :)

i ma just wondering will the engine fit in mine without changing anything ot the chassis.

you dont see on the photo but the car is totaly rusted at the back..

you wont need to hack about with any bits of chassis mate, itll be a straight fit.
