Hi,

Been looking for a good VW\Polo forum for a while now and afther som reading I think this is the place! I'm currently living in Denmark but I'm from Norway, and I know this is a Uk club but I hope this does not do anything.

I bought my 97, 8V, 1,6L Polo last summer. It was a wreck did not run, had rust holes I could put my hand through and there was no exhaust system. But I knew parts came cheap to the Polo and I always wanted one beeing a old VW-fan and everything.

The first thing I did was making my own exhaust system welding a 2,5" pipe at the end, a shrink to 2" on the rest and a sportsilencer at the end (Looks kinda funny on this small car, but sound cool!).

The rust holes got welded up and a fast sprayjob was done, but when I moved to Denmark and took the car with me I wanted to even more, so I went shopping on ebay and found som new rearlights with black background and new angeleyes although I'm more in to the powerlooks so maybe I will change theese later. I got a emblem free grill, removed the black list on the side of the doors and bought some 15" 195\40 black rims & tires

What I want with this post (if its okey) is to use it as my worklog, my plans for the polo this year is:

1. Getting my hands on some new coilovers (Next payceck)

2. Fix all the paint problems on the car, and check that its 100% free from rust.

3. Paint the roof black.

4. New seats in the front (bucketseats), paint or get a new cover for the dashboard

5. Install the new stereo I have, a 1-din 7" lcd stereo with Windows CE installed dvd\gps\bluethooth and change the system to linux Moblin.

6. Fit a 16V front and back bumber and a roof spoiler of some sort.

7. Finding a 16V GTi engine og maybe even a VR6 since these are quite cheap in Germany...

8. Remove backseats and fit a rollcage.

And I have one question?! How low can I go? hehe With the 15" 40mm rims & tires? I was hoping for 60mm down but I seriously dont know?

If you guys have any of the parts I need, or have any ideas for my project just post it! (And yeah I know not everyone like the whole black roof idea but it's something I want to do...)

My old computers harddrive died last week so I lost all my pictures, but I still got one from my mail that I can post!

can I go as low as 80mm? Or is that pushing it? The picture is photosho'ed just so I could see how it would look, I'm currently driving on stock now..

yeah you could do mate, lots do, but most of them will claim they're 100, and the few that are 100 will say they are 120

nice car, but you need do add more pictures;)

well made a small order today on ebay.de... not much since I'm working as a freelance designer and photographer and the pay isnt all that great:

Black led blinkers with clear glass: 20Euros

Aluminium door locks: 10Euros

And coilovers 40mm to 90mm was 160Euros

Looking forwars to receive these!

And I'm also wondering if a total repaint this summer will look good, thinking of creamish white with a black roof, what do you guys think?
