Red Polo G40

Featured Replies

After 5 years of owning my G40 and loved every minute. I have decided its time for a change. The G40 never fails to put a smile on my face. This car has only let me down once in the last 5 years and that was recently when the Hall

sender packed up ( been replaced). The car pulls extreamly well in all gears with no issues, the sound is awesome. I

have had a company car for the last 3 years so the Polo doesn't get driven much. Its been kept in the garage most of

that time, some of that being declared off the road as it seemed a waste spending money getting it running and not

using it. Since being back on the road it just gets used at the weekends. Low mileage for a 18 Year old car. Car starts

fine when warm or cold. Serviced every 4000 miles by family mechanic. Lots of history + receipts even have the

original purchase receipt.

Make: Volkswagen

Model: Tornado Red Polo G40

Year/Reg: 1992 K Reg

Mileage: 96K

MOT: Full years MOT

Tax: Taxed Until 04/10

Location: Camberley, Surrey

Body: Tornado red paint work. For the age the paint work is good, the bonnet and roof have faded slightly but

after a polish (see pics) it looks nice. However there was some rust on the car which i've started to treat. Can be seen in the pics , Passengers A pillar, Bottom right corner drivers door &3 bits on tail gate. I have rubbed it down and treated depending on how long the car is for sale it may get sorted. The drivers side paint work is better than the passengers as this was repainted a couple of years back because of some idiot kicking it.

Engine The engine is strong only done 96K oil changed every 4000 miles. I attended one of the Club Polo RR

dates a couple of years back and the car gave out 150BHP. Its currently running a PSD full blend charger (rebuilt at

84K + Lubracated regularily) with induction kit + heat sheild, oil catch tank, PSD tooth belts, 65mm pully, PSD chip, boost return mod, stainless exhaust with decat (original cat included).

Interior The condition of the interior is very good I would say almost mint for the age. The seats are clean with no rips of burns. The bulster supports of the both drivers & passenger seats are all still well intact. I have fitted a Momo 300mm steering wheel ( Original included) + Sparco gear knob with Richbrook Handbrake + gaitors etc. The car also has electric windows + a clifford concept 600 alarm with remote start. Included also is the Alpine Radio with JBL Amp, Vibe Sub & CD changer with Infinity + Focal speakers along with Audio Scape door pods. Factory Sun roof.

Suspension + Wheels The cars running on Spax dampner adjustables 60/40mm. With original BBS RA 13"

alloys + Legal A539 Yoko tyres.

Exterior The car had fitted later spec rear lights & clear side indicators. Also has German style number plates.

Recent work carried out Oil Change, New Brembo Max disks + Ferodo DS racing pads (less than 200 miles ago), Braided Hoses, New Hall Sender, New Fuel Tank, New Battery.

Bad bits - When reversing off the drive down a drop key whilst turning to full lock there is a klonk sound. Not sure what the issue is. Does not affect how the car drives & does not occur any other time. Alarm often does not cherp when locking & unlocking but otherwise works normally. Siren does work when it needs to. Also when cold as the car warms when coming to a stop the car will try to cut out. If it does, when restarted its fine. Had a look at the ISV and cleaned it up not too sure if thats the problem this does not happen all the time.
