why do people take off their plate when they haven't bothered smoothing the recess?

It makes your car loook like a pikey's who doesn't want points!

But getting the loom to match up is a pain on late model 6n2s apparently

I dont see the problem?the 1.8t loom will be alot harder to wire in than an afh loom?

It'll be easier to do the GTi obviously, since you're putting an engine in that's supposed to be there. The 1.8'll be a barst to do, not to mention custom mounts and shafts. The GTi is good, but not as tunable. So i guess you'd have to go for the AFH?

But how d'you deal with ABS and airbags?

I've given up on that 20vt engine because it was such a basic one with so many hurdles to overcome. The major issues presented by the AFH are the clocks etc because they came from a different generation of engine design. I think i'm gonna start with an AVY and then tune the nuts off it in one way another.

Anyway, i cant do anything engine related atm because i just had to pay a shedload of rent. However, i did buy these, to remedy my broken headlamp adjusters/steaming up/general pain in the arse FK angels before the MOT

Hopefully, they'll go on next weekend if i've got time

how much did the lights set you back? I'm on the hunt for some.

Most of them come with ballasts mate, if not they're around £65 each from VW

I'm gonna build them up with the internals from my FKs and use my current HID kit, bought some 8000k D2s bulbs the other day on egay, as well as some new main beam and SMD sidelights

£140 which is the same as my FKs cost a year ago! :( I've seen sets of these go for £200 before though so i'm happy, and they came from a mate so i know that they're in good nick

My lights are here, but the bulbs so far aren't but i have discovered i can use my HID kit - the connectors match up fine, just waiting on D2S's to arrive. I'm gonna stick with 100w main beam halogens for now too, since the ones i've got at the moment are such good value for money

them sidelights bulbs are quite good , have you seen the normal led bulbs ?

I got some similar ones, from china. They were total shite. Stopped working very quickly. Only paid £2 for them though.

Got my current ones from a "Mr AMG" on ebay. can bus error free ones, 8smds, Much nicer light on them too. One of the ones I recieved blew, so he sent out a replacement, really happy with the service from that guy. Dont mind the extra cost from a UK seller, £8 is still pretty cheap

I'm running a similar set in my fogs/drls already, these ones are from the uk so hopefully they should be nice! My fog ones are 9 LED and their output is actually very good, so hopefully these ones will be much brighter with 25
