hiya, seeming as your the only person i know who has changed thier halo rings, how hard is it and what do you actually have to do, i have my bulbs now and wanna do it today but I'm not entirely sufre what I'm doing .

The tricky part isnt the actual changing, you need to take the bumper off to remove the headlamp units. The bulbs are held in little carriers which go through a small aperture to the angel eye "halo" , 5 bulbs per ring. They're all wired in series so if you pull them all out at once they're like xmas tree lights!

Swap the bulbs, test them before re inserting ( because leds wont work if they're the wrong way round) and then plug them back into their little holes in order.

Its not too bad a job to do and considering mine used to blow the bulbs really quickly i'd say its worth it for the increased durability of the leds.

The bumper can be off in 15 min if you know what you're doing, but first time i did it it took nearly an hour!

i can take my bumper off with my eyes shut lol, I've had to do it so many times its now second nature,

i have the depo fk replica things i think... some people say its another branch of fk and some people say its a copycxat company... i just know there exactly the same

and i dont have a haynes unfortunatly

jesus what a ball ache these l.e.d.s are I've done one side fine but the other keeps blowing my parking fuse out and i have absolutely no idea why... I'm going to leave it till next week as i have absolutely no idea what to do with it, unless one of the bulbs has its metal strip touching something it shouldnt therefore short circiting it all... confused.com

I just sent it to my tame mechanic and he sorted them out for me, now they're fine. Maybe its got something to do with the increased current due to a decrease in resistance (V=IR)

poo... i just find it wierd i managed one side ok but not the other... the one right by the main headlamp i cant fit back in either so i left it out lol not even that noticible, i dont know what to do with my other side... think I'm going to have to buy a big bag of fuses and test each bulb individually see if thats the problem... i cant think of anything else to do.

Do they come on reeeeaaally faintly when the headlights are on? cos thats what mine did. I thought i shorted them out when i was using a screwdriver to push the bulb carriers back in, but maybe it wasn't that that did it...

the fuse dosent last long enough for me to see if there on faintly lol, its a really odd problem as i dont know if the fault is with the bulb carriers or if its with the bulbs themselvs... hmm I'm going to leave both the fuses out till i can think how to solve the problem... cant drive around with one full set of halo rings and on the other side none at all lol,

Try sticking a greater rated fuse in

that would be a fire hazard..

lol... tommorrow I'm going to take all the led's out see if the fuse is ok then and if it is the one by one test each bulb and if thats ok least then i can put it down to a bulb carrier... i bought 25 mini 5amp fuses today so i have some to spare if they blow

and if THAT dosent work then i will steal a lamb or next doors dog cause it never shuts up ! and start preforming ritual

Ok so quick update, i was doing a bit of impetuous ebaying last night and i've bought myself a spoiler!

Should arrive tomorrow or friday and I hope to have it painted up and on before tidyvag on sunday

I'm also in the process of getting some PI lowering springs! I'm aiming to have them on by the end of next week

I was planning on just using a bit of tigerseal to stick the spoiler on, good idea?

White primer, then colour matched paint from halfords.I will then leave it for a couple of days to cure before lacquering it

with rattle cans? mine was already primed and then i used the paint on it but its not a very even finish :(

Ok so today was a day of ups and downs;

Bad point - Got in the car this morning and was greeted by this:
