Nope, I used electrical tape! Much cheaper and less permanent.

Cant wait for my car to stop rolling like a pudding!

Finally the day of lows is here!

FK Hightec dampers with 60/40 (i think) springs :D

As far as handling is concerned, big big improvement over stock! Really quick turning and much less body roll. The ride is perfectly bearable too, which is a bonus.

Anyway, lets let the pictures do the talking. Before:

What do y'all think?

:D

Does look better that, still way too high though. That or you need some bigger wheels.

  • Author

Yeah i was thinking new wheels next..... :ninja:

Wind it all the way down!!

DO IT!!

looks alot nicer, still think it could go lower though! You'll have better handling with that set up than really low coilovers, because they are just too bumpy to handle well after 80mm.

Depends whether you like handling or styling more lol

looking good dude, only thing i would do now is get some different wheels to finish off! but still looks good as it is too

Btw my old dampers and springs will be up for sale soon so if anyone wants to bagsy them pm me

Looks good! Nice sensible lows! Wider rims will help it look bit lower! But Id personally get some 60mm rear springs to mate! Level it out more!

Thanks for the comments guys! I think that a nice set of 16" wheels will finish it off a treat , maybe some BBS rx or rx2's off a golf cabrio?

I had started to save up but then some seats came up at a price i can't ignore, so watch this space..... (picking em up wednesday)

Looks much better mate glad to here it all went well :)

That sits rather well :D

are all your photos HDR? Or have you got really patchy paintwork :p

Haha i'll admit my front bumper has a dodgy patch but i do like to play with the pics a fair amount in the edit!

Right, news of the day: picked up my buckets today, 3hrs and a hell of a lot of swearing later i have the driver's seat in, but no passenger seat! Unfortunately i ran out of bolts and daylight, so no pics as yet either. Scuffed knuckles, sore back. These seats had better be worth it!

Got the second seat in this afternoon! :D

DSC_7940.jpg

Hasnt left an awfully large amount of legroom in the rear though...

Oh well, false floor here i come!

any pictures underneath of the subframes mucca?

  • Author

Ha i'll see what i can do! They sure as hell aren't coming out any time soon!

ahhh, so youve made em not to move? not to be removable like the originals?

  • Author

They're corbeau subframes for mk3 golf.

Passenger side (seems to go back further than driver's) all the way back

Edited by dirt_monkey

ahhh gotcha..so youve done away with the runners that the normal seat uses and fixed in new ones to the floor pan?

  • Author

Not quite, the new frame slots into the old runners, but is fixed by the bolt at the front. The subframe has its own runners in

My favorite angle on the car atm
