Hi guys can you tell me is there an anual charge to keep a personal plate on your car?

Or is it only when it is on retetion you have to pay?

only when it is on retention as far as I'm aware! my missus has had one for 2 years and not paid anything!

yeah its £105 iirc to put a plate on retention, but that includes the £80 transfer fee so you have a certificate allowing it to be transferred straight onto another car

its £25 a year after that outlay

There's not much point though,unless you like the plate. Mine was nothing special so i let it go. If i remove the personal plate but keep the car on the road,i'll be issued a random replacement of the original registration year.
