Welcome to ClubPolo :-D. Nice cars but I never realised they sold the 6N2 as a GTi with the 1.4 16v engine instead, seems a little strange?

thanks! 8-)

Yap,it's truth!

In Portugal(only),they sold the GTI with 2 engine options.a 1.4 16v and a 1.6(very rare)...

Everything in them are the same, except the engine. :?

they do that because,in Portugal, the price that they asked for the real GTI(1.6) was too high(was at same price that a Golf!)

so they put a 1.4 engine to reduce the final price

Aaah still seems kinda wierd, was it the same with Lupo's, did they sell the GTi over there for that?

We have a couple of members from Portugal on here and they often complain about strange laws to do with wheel/tyre size, is that still correct?

the lupo GTi had the 1.6 engine only... :?

yes, here in Portugal the tires/wheels laws sucks!!!

By law,I can't have 17" wheels in my 9N!

But if i had bought the car with 17" wheels(optional),they didn't put any problems...

Furtunately there are companys like LTA(Laboratorio de Testes Automovel,in English sounds like Auto Tests Lab) or DINAVE that can legalize some mods that you want to do in your car.

Thanks to the DINAVE,i'll go legalize the 17"wheels in my 9N next mounth 8-)
