VDub MK3 Polo - Progress Thread

Featured Replies

This is my mk3 boulevard i just bought off e-bay, was not far down the road so viewed it and picking it up next week.

113,000 miles, 10 month MOT, Bit of tax left. Tidy all round, got a little bit of rust on one of the front arches but mint otherwise.

Solid underneath, no corrosion, just had a few hundred spent for MOT. Paid £450

The owner before the guy i bought it off put a few nice mods on it, it's got a side exit exhaust which sounds quite nice, a set of RH cups (good con but need re-painting) and lowered by 40mm i think.

A few pics (how it is now):

Looks nicer in real life, pics don't really do it much justice, but this is it.

I'm moving out at the start of march so got to start paying bills aswell as spending a bit of cash on this, so it'll be slow progress but it will get done.

My plans are to firstly get some pressed plates on and lower it to 60/80, or more if i can afford coilovers

Leaving the exhaust as its spot on, nice mod for it. Get some wheel spacers on it to stretch it out a bit, sticker it up a bit and a nice set of leathers.

Other than that i wanted to do a few things to take peoples eyes off the green a bit, i wasn't sure about the colour at first but it has grown on me, but thinking of spraying the bonnet roof and tailgate black, or just bonnet and tailgate and chequer the roof.

Once i've sorted the looks i'll be doing the engine and dropping a G40 in it, then the rest of my cash will be spent on the engine and performance.

I'd like to know what people think of the car and the plans and if they have any suggestions.

This is my first vee dub but its what i'v always wanted to get, i'm 18 and had been driving 306 dturbos, 106 xsi's and clios so glad to get away from the french even though i had no problems.

The polo could do with new dizzy cap and leads, set of spark plugs etc so going to get this done aswell.

I'l have more pics up when i get the car, hopefully get a few better ones and signing up to clubpolo as a full membership when my bank stop f*ckin me around.

Its growing on me, like the look of yours too. Might just do the wheels first then see how it is, didn't realise how rare they were.

How many less is there about than the other coloured polos ?

nice one! the color is schweet, not to common here in germany. thought about tinted rear lights?would look an ace ;). the only negative aspect is the exhaust in my opinion.... looks strange.

do sorta wish the exhaust came out the back just cause the back looks a bit boring atm.

got some tint film going to get rear lights done, maybe fronts. not going to change the exhaust though.

think back will look fine/better when iv got pressed plates, stickered it up a bit and when its a bit lower
