Fuel Filter Help Please

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm trying to replace my fuel filter on my polo 6n 1.4 16v, but cant for the life of me remove the hoses from the old filter. Anyone know how they come off?

I'm pretty much under the car now so a quick relpy would be great!

Thanks :-)

anyone???

anyone???

I'm in the same boat mate iv gotta change mine today if i find out how il let you no

i know how you feel mate, first things first whatever you do dont get stressed!

i got pissed off at started trying to hack at them. ended up snapping the head off one of the old lines.. the line that ran over the fuel tank to the fuel pump. and you can't replace that without dropping the fuel tank so be careful ;)

I'm guessing they are the original black connector type things.. just basically feel around for two little pins on the end that slots onto the filter. push the two pins in and it releases the connector rally easily.

it just took my ages to find those pins, brute force is not required!

ok thats seems to have worked but in the confusion of the petrol pooring onto my face i forgot which way round the filter goes on. I think I've got it right but can someone please confirm whther the arrows should be pointing towards the driver or passinger please

Reaally appreciate the help :)

pretty sure it points to the passenger side mate. the tube on the right (looking towardss front of car from rear bumper) comes from fuel tank (via fuel pump) and so tube on left travels under the car to the engine.
