i had a an ax it was a 1 litre and my insurance was about 1200

with insurance it depends where u live if it has a high crime rate then your insurance goes upand maybe look for a polo 1litre maybe mark 2 or 3

also depends on what sort of money youve got

was thinking a 1.0L polo 6n2 but got a feelin tht will be like driving a snail

1st car was a mk2 breadvan 1043cc back in 98. TPFT insurance was £860.

the 1l 6n2 will most likely handle like a snail as the newer models seem to be heavier than the earlier ones.

buy a mark 3 as will be lighter than a 6n2

and a mk2 is even lighter :)

My first car was an Austin Allegro and it was £160 to insure...this was 22 years ago though :lol: .

Hmmmmmmmmm Decisions Decisions I'm in a state of not knowing what to go for haha

Brand new micra, nine years ago, insurance was free with a brand new car. :)

didn't stop me putting it on it's roof and really impressing the parents.

First and last car they ever bought me.

i aint as lucky as u to get a car paid for hahaha

Hey, i'm 18 too having my license for about 14 months now, never insured before Insurance in my name is £1700 with endsleigh for polo 6n 1.4 8v got it just a few months ago 4 £1100-satin silver, 55k fsh i live in Leicester. Hmm, thinking back now i would prob spend a bit more and go for a 6n2 but i was in a hush out of hospital so needed something...anyway whatever you choose u will love it!!! doesn't matter if its slow- and if insurance is on your dads name get a 1.4-but be careful they are clamping down might be best to get it in your name anyway.

cheers for adivce m8 but direct line are doin some thing were the named drivers get no claims bonus aswell yano what you on someone elses. i was thinking of getting a 1.4 8v but i just dont no but i would want the 16v becuase they are FASTTT but insurance would be through the roof i might have to have a look at a 1.4 8v now lol.

I got my first car a few months ago and i havn't passed my test yet. its a mk5 1.4 polo and will cost about £2000 to insure when i pass.

mk2 bready 1043cc and tpft was £520 but i'm going back 10 years ish

Mk3 1.3CL as a named driver on my mom's policy, kept on driveway in a good area, cost about £800 for the first year, about four years ago, with Tesco.

Mk5 1.4 escort 8-) insurance was £1400 as a named driver, but i was only 17 and i do live in robber theifchester

I wouldnt get a nice car for your first, youre only going to scratch and probably crash it anyway, youll just be more gutted. Get a shitter of a car (looks wise) for like £100-£200 and drive that for about 6 months to gain some experience, carry on saving and then buy that car you really want :-)

mk2 bready 1043cc diesel wannabe and tpft was £520 but i'm going back 10 years ish

Altered it for you matey ;)

I Was Thinking About A 1.3 Cl Polo OR 1.OL Polo Becuase It Was £800 On My Stepdads Insurance For The 1.0L But Not Too Sure About The 1.3 Not Checked

This is me and my first car. I was a 17yo caterer and it was 9yo 1.3L with brown interior. Photos taken summer '92. I bought it as a write-off and my uncle re-shelled it for me. Fitted a recon 1.3 CVH engine with 5-speed box in the process.

It cost me £525 to insure TPFT, but remember that was when interest rates were 15%. A brand new XR2i cost over ten grand, whilst a studio flat in my area went for just £16,000. Petrol was 47p a litre. Hard to tell the equivalent cost then, but the car was worth £1400 and i earned £85 a week full time.
