I've been on here for a while now, but haven't started a progress thread. It’s a mk5 6n2, 1.4 16v, so this is what I've done with the car up to now....

Coilovers and a set of 14" BBS (now winter wheels)

Then...

New wheels ... set of 15" mirror polished Castellets & some 15mm and 25mm eibach hubcentric spacers (which will both be up for sale soon, wheels & spacers), GTI front splitter, HID's & de wipered rear and a few other little bits.

And now how it looks at the moment...

More new wheels, Oz turbos, 15" 7s front and 8s rear, at first I wasn’t sure about the red centers, but now I will admit they have grown on me. Wheels getting referbed soon, but I'm still unsure whether to keep them red, or get them all fully mirror polished, thoughts??

I know it needs to go lower at the front, however my coliovers are wound down fully, anyone have any ideas in how to get it lower?

I still have more plans, maybe get the interior done, was thinking mk3 colour concept seats (in green), and the body work, thinking of going for the Usd look, and a few more little things.

love seeing this around. the turbos should go mirror with maybe some red detailing? as for the ride height, you can take the helper springs out, but it will take away from the ride comfort...

Mirror polished was what i was originally going to do, as i loved my castellets all polished up. but I'm still 50/50 in what they will end up like, red or polished.

Someone elce has suggested that i take them out, should be an easy job, but as you say takes the ride comfort away, not that its nice at the moment anyway.

Right, bit of an update...

I decided to run these during the winter and this happened... but not to worry as they were getting referbed anyway.

I have now split the wheels, and sent them off to Pureklas to be referbed about 3 weeks ago ...... As for what colour/sytle i did the centres you will have to wait and see untill i get them back. which should be tomorrow.

I hope to have these built, and on ready for GTI Spring fest. Along with taking my helpers out this week and fitting my new front lights.

Cheers m8, yer i hope it does once the helpers are out. With a bit of luck it will be at GTI spring fest, providing the wheels are build on time.

The interior is just the standard black seats it came with, next thing is the body work, then i will do the interior, but I'm not sure what interior to go for.

nice, engine swap from a 1.4, to a GTI engine, guessing it was a pretty straight forward swap?

^^^ it was a 1.0 before the swap mate, he had to change both the engine (obviously) and interior looms to get it to work. hes used a gti dash and stuff too.. should be pretty sweet.
