hi people, as above really, is it easily done to stick a 1.3 carb engine into my 1.0 carb mk2 breadvan, if so, which engines are the easiest to fit? could i convert to injection easily enough? or would carb be easier to stay with?

any help will as always be greatly appreciated,

p.s, would the 5 speed box also be better or a 4 speed? cheers again...

easiest would be to grab a 5 speed carb'd 1300 mk2 engine ....would be a direct swap , some need the arb swapped to clear the 5 speeder

an injection engine isnt that hard , but more work that the carb engine ...worth it if you can locate a GT engine

hia, did this swap sunday on my mk2 bready, if u know what you are doing can be done ina day pretty easy, was the first time id done it and to take out 2 engines and refit 1 took me the weekend, with the 1300 5 speed, nothing had to be changed, I've got a few extra wires as I've gone from automatic choke to manual but thats it, quite a nice difference between the 2 aswell, much nicer to drive :biggrin:
