Hi, for sale is my 1990 1.6 MK1 UK MX5 in red.

All the body dents ect. are in these pics, the car does polish up well and wears them well but it does have dents.

It has done about 73,000 miles but this will increase as the car is still in use.

MOT and Tax are due in June / July 2010

It has power steering and electric windows but no leather unfortunately.

I bought this car just over 3 years ago as it was solid to drive and had relatively low mileage, about 62,000 IIRC.

The reason for sale, I need a larger car. I've found a BMW 328 that I will have hopefully purchased by the end of this week.

In my ownership I have had chaged:

Camblet & aux belts (MX5parts kit)

Brakes (EBC Kevlar & MX5parts discs)

Clutch (Sachs)

Clutch slave cylinder (MX5parts)

Fuel filter *2 (Mazda)

Oil Filter *4 (Mazda + latest garage supplied)

Oil *4 (Fully synthetic Shell)

Full exhaust system (see mods list)

Air filter (see mods)

Spark Plugs *2 (Bosche super 4's and super plus)

HT leads (ADL blueprint)

Coil pack (2nd hand)

AFM (2nd hand)

Westco battery + full new battery tray kit

There's more that I can't remember.

The good points:

The car drives solidly

The car come's with some original parts + a few spares

Very little rust on the car anywhere, slight bubbling on the arches but no paint breakage yet

Drives very well, pulls surprisingly strong for a 1.6

Good condition roof

Book upto date and upto milage I consider this FSH

Loads of tread on the tyres

Long MOT and tax

Hardtop fitting kit side and rear are installed

The bad points

The body has some dents on quite a few panels, some are noticable, others aren't too bad

The windscreen surround has suffered from laquer peel.

The windscreen has a chip, repaired by Autoglass but worth mentioning

The current bootlid has faded (original supplied with it also but has a dent hence why I changed it)

Rear screen has some marks, not as bad as some others but not perfect

The chassis rails have a dent in each, a common problem which hasn't caused any problems yet but worth mentioning it as it was an advisory

Passenger side wing mirror has been repaired with silicone

Some black marks along the rear bumper

I've had problems in the past with fuel economy but it has been pretty good for 6 months or so

I've noticed a hesitation/mis fire in cold weather. No idea what casues this but it went all summer without a problem but done it a few times in the cold recently.

Some paint damage on the front nose cone next to and behind number plate

I've got a garage full of extra's including the original induction set-up, VGC BBS TWR alloy wheels as seen in pics above, spare wheel nuts, locking wheel nuts, front upper strut brace, small wing mirrors, original lamps and side markers.

The extra's (excluding the TWR's) come with the car if wanted, they'll be of no use to me.

On the whole, this car has been a reliable car which has given me 3 years of pretty much problem free daily motoring.

No I didn't keep the stock exhaust, it was rotten.

The new exhaust is quiet.

Pics, unfortunately I don't own a digital camera so I have to make do, I'll try and get some more pics but my two pence of the car are as follows:

If you want to make a track toy out of this then it would be fine but as it is it's not going to win any show and shine contests.

The real items of worth and rarity are the ARC chamber, Racing Beat filter elbow, the BBS TWR wheels and the Racing Beat Exhaust.

I'm not after a minter, just something for the summer for the missus to have some fun in.

Is the exhaust worth much? Can't say that a 3.5" tailpipe on something with less than 500bhp floats my boat, so would be wanting to stick a stock one on it.

I don't know really, I bought all the bits seperately and gave it to a garage to fit soI can't really comment upon the quality of the work either.

It looks and sounds pretty cool

I'll ask a friend to see if I can get some more pics of it.

Latest pics and a video proving that the headlight swork, the electric windows work and the engine noise starting from cold.

They show the paint damage on the nose cone, the rust patch on the rear and the condition of the seals.

The other wheels are in the pictures above and have Toyo Proxes T1R's bought in 2009 summer, one needs replacing due to a blow out.
