are they good yeah coz guna look into buying one but i dont wanna buy one completely standard if u get me as money is tight soooooo what did u have a 1.3? was it nippy?

My first car was the mk 3 and i really enjoyed it even though i never got to drive it much, it was the 1.0L boulevard model. Horrible seats but I stuck some Golf GTI seats in (you had to open the door to adjust them lol :p). It was pretty fast too and good on petrol.

My second car what I have now is a mk2, which i gotta say i prefer but thats just my opinion.

Which mk3 are you thinking about? I think the coupe looks best but the saloon looks good also.

Thinking About the 1.3 Coupe Mate But i Dunno yet

I have 2 mk3 breadvans but only driving one at the moment, which is my first car. I love it to bits. So much character. It has been in the family for years though, so I'm rather attached :-D

It's a 1.3 spi and I've been modding the engine recently, she's quite nippy now at lower speeds.

They go fairly well as standard aswell for what they are. Haven't driven a 1.05 so can't compare.

but be prepared to have problems, dont just think you can buy one and rag it around. it will break! haha :D

at the end of the day its an old car. if you rag it about, it will break, well me and everyone i no with gt's has alot of problems with them, maybe were just unlucky? only trying to help the guy!

lol what you mean chill out? do you no like swearing? its a 1.3 mate. They only do a 1.05 or 1.3. capacity size anyway. Get whatever you find thats in the best nick , wouldnt bother making your decions on what engine it has out of the 1.3 spi and the 1.05. There hardly different in power.

well you need to maintain it better dont you pal. I think there pretty bullet proof if you know what ypur doing.

'It's an old car' means nothing.

No complex electronics etc to go wrong. They are pretty solid.

Loved the way I drove past loads of new cars broken down in the heavy snow recently on the motorway, the little Polo laughed in their faces.

if you can get insured, get a gt, there great fun. I'm not saying the others arn't as I've never driven any.

Lol Max, we are mk3 lovers alright!

i maintain it very well, all I'm sayin is I've had a lot of problems, maybe i bought it off someone who didnt take much care of it? but yes i look after it very well so shut the fuck up unless you know me and the way i take care of my car! :D

its fine mate, and yeh like said above , id see about insuring a GT before you do anything. A GT is the one to get if you can afford to insure it. If you cant then go for the less powered ones, and do some subtle engine mods to get the power up. You will love it mate.

Drives: irratically in small cars

nuff said pal, I'm not gonna argue with you mate lol, I'm just saying that i think there pretty good reliable cars if you look after them. And yes being old does pay a little. But only structurally, id say the engines are fine.
